Stankey, Dolores M., 87 of North Salem, NY, died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at home.

Dolores was a resident of North Salem for 35 years.

Dolores was born August 6, 1930 in Yonkers, NY to the late Frank and Mary Grohowski.

She graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers and met the love of her life working at World Book Company in Yonkers, NY.

Dolores married Robert J Stankey, a Marine Corps veteran and a Lieutenant in the Westchester County Parkway Police, Robert died in 1983.

Dolores worked for the North Salem School District as Secretary to the Principal and became the Town Clerk of North Salem for 17 years before retiring in 1999.

Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Robert and is the loving mother of Raymond J Stankey and the devoted Grandmother of Jack Robert Stankey, both of Garden City, NY.

Dolores is the sister of Barbara A. Booker of Yonkers, NY and the late Frank Groh of Thornwood, NY and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Dolores was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and a Member of the North Salem Seniors, the St. Joseph’s Seniors and The Red Hats.

Friends may visit the Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph’s RC Church at 10:00am on Thursday September 7, 2017.

Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY
