I got to know Mary so much better these last couple of years. I’ve known her my whole life through our church. When my father died and I moved my mother to our home in NC. Anytime we took one of our many trips up to NY she let us stay with her at her beautiful home. We sat so many mornings talking about our families and friends over her “Italian breakfast”. My mother and I would take her to dinner after a fun time at the casino. She had her little wallet with her “gambling money”. She was so bright and funny. She had so many great memories.
I’m so grateful that on our last visit to NY we went to visit her at rehabilitation hospital. We brought her hard candies and honey. Something she loved. She will be missed. Eternal memories my friend.
