Caroline Caglianone

Caroline (Lilly) Rose Caglianone (nee Ciccone) died peacefully at home on November 3, 2021. She was born on November 13, 1927, in Afragola Italy near Naples. As a young girl she traveled to the United States via Ellis Island. The family settled in the Arthur Avenue section of the Bronx. She attended and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. Caroline married the boy next door, Claude Caglianone affectionately called Red who died May 19, 2002. They married September 16, 1950, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in the Bronx.

Caroline and her family lived in the Bronx until 1964 when they moved to Purdys NY. There she began her work career. Caroline worked for several doctors in Mt. Kisco preforming patient intake duties and helping patients with insurance questions. When switching careers, she worked for Westchester County’s Tobacco and Alcohol Substance Abuse division in an administrative capacity. A proud moment in her and her family’s life was when she graduated from SUNY Empire College in 1982. She had a passion for education which she instilled in her three girls.

Caroline enjoyed traveling and journeyed to many parts of the globe. When her grandchildren arrived and became old enough, she included them in her trips. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and volunteering.

She is survived by her three daughters, Carole (Michael) Webb  of Arlington Virginia, Claudia (Brendan) Boyle of Bronxville, NY and Teresa (Robert) Madigan of Somers NY. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren Seamus, Patrick (Jessica), Brian (Michelle) and Kevin (Errieta) Webb, Michael (Evelyn), Thomas (Palley), Dennis and Kerry Boyle, Andrew (Claire) and John (Samantha) Madigan. Also, nine great-grandchildren Emma, Elizabeth, Aidan, Jackson, Bradley and Georgina Boyle and Vincent, Conor and Francesca Webb.
