Obituary of Karen Katzenstein
Karen Katzenstein, 86, of Somers, NY, formerly of Yonkers, died peacefully on Saturday, February 1st, 2025. Karen was born on May 16, 1938, in Yonkers, NY to the late Lillian and Robert Abele.
Karen was a woman who lived life with joy, warmth, and an adventurous spirit. She loved her family and friends deeply and cherished every moment spent with them, whether a big holiday gathering or a simple conversation over meals. Additionally, Karen enjoyed traveling with loved ones. From a grand adventure overseas to a weekend getaway in the Poconos, she found joy in the journey and the memories she created along the way. Karen was also known for her love of nature and animals, nurturing countless plants in her home, as well as snuggling her dog, Emily.
Karen was the beloved wife of Bernard Katzenstein and the loving mother of three daughters, Sherry, Lori, and Wendy. She was the devoted grandmother of Michael, Marci, Christopher, Matthew, Deanna, Kristin, Nicholas, and Eric, as well as a great-grandmother to Madison, Mackenzie, Morgan, Lilly, and Grace. She is predeceased by her son, Neil, and grandson, Stephen, whom she loved dearly and is now reunited with in eternal peace.
Friends may gather at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY on Tuesday, February 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm for visitation.
The funeral service and celebration of Karen’s life will take place at Clark Associates Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5th at 10 am. The interment will follow directly afterward at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY.
