Obituary of Carlo J. Marano

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carlo John Marano, who left us on February 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Carlo was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather whose presence enriched our lives in countless ways.

Born on October 29, 1930, in Harlem, New York, Carlo lived a life full of love, wisdom, laughter, and dedication. He was a resident of Somers, New York for over 35 years with his beloved wife, Josephine Marano, of 67 years. He was known for his kindness, humor, and generosity, and he profoundly impacted everyone who knew him.

Carlo is survived by his five children: Maria (Dennis), John (Sueli), Frank, Victoria (Parry), and Carlo (Barbara); and his eleven grandchildren: Michael, Elena, Adriana, Victoria, Rachel, Julia M., Anthony, Julia S., Marissa, Dylin, and Carlo; his sister Nancy; and his nieces and nephews.

He worked as a printer for many years and was a dedicated Veteran who was proud of his work and the relationships he built. Outside of his career, Carlo was passionate about his gardens, swimming, and community involvement.

A service to honor his life will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home at 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY 10536 on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4-8 PM. We invite all those who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating his memory.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 12th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY 10589. Entombment to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, NY 10470.

Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, joy, wisdom, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Veteran’s Affairs in his honor.
