Obituary of Frances M. Grant

Frances M. Grant, 95, of Somers, NY, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born to the late Francis and Mary (Reynolds) O’Neill on May 9, 1929, in City Island, NY.  Her father owned a butcher’s shop, and her mother managed an apartment brownstone.  Frances got her strong work ethic from both parents which led her to attend Fordham University and graduate in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, and a minor in Finance.  Frances enjoyed a long career with the IBM Corporation and retired in 1992.

She met her husband, Raymond Grant, through mutual friends while they both attended college.  Ray predeceased her in 1996. 

Frances was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.   She was a wonderful mother who was always there, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.

She is the cherished mother to Linda Grant Bosse, Michael (Zerlinda, dec.) Grant, Doreen (William) Sheehan, Sheila (Michael) Walsh, Raymond (Carlene Enomoto) Grant.

She is the beloved grandmother to Kristin Bosse, Erin (Bosse) and Chris McEntee, Daniel Sheehan, Michelle (Sheehan) and Chase Crockett, Billy, Charlie, Raymond Sheehan, Katie (Walsh) and Chris Riker, Kim, Kelly and William Walsh.

She is the adored great-grandmother to Declan and Zoey Crockett, Charlie, Cooper and Ryan McEntee. 

Frances holds a special place in the hearts of all she met.

Friends and relatives may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY

on Wednesday, February 19, from 3:00-7:00pm. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY

on Thursday, February 20, at 10:00am.

 Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 20 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Frances’ name.
