Obituary of James D. Harrington
James (Jamie) Harrington, 64, of New Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Danbury, Connecticut surrounded by family. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Jamie will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering generosity.
Born on May 15, 1960, in New Rochelle, NY, Jamie was the beloved son of Paul and Suzanne Harrington. He attended Archbishop Stepinac High School and went on to earn his degree from Iona College. His career spanned decades in finance and internal auditing, working at Reader’s Digest and General Electric in Stamford, CT. A Certified Fraud Investigator, Jamie was known for his sharp intellect and dedication to his work.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jamie was a man of many passions. An avid fisherman and golfer, he found joy in the outdoors and the camaraderie of sports. He was a world traveler, a devoted soccer and Olympics fan, and a businessman at heart. His greatest love, however, was his family. Jamie was a dedicated husband to his wife, Lisa, originally from Yonkers, NY, and a proud father to his children, Dylan and Taylor.
Jamie’s generosity extended beyond his family and career—he was an active member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where he dedicated time to supporting others in their fight against blood cancers. His warmth and thoughtful nature left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, Dylan and Taylor; his siblings, Steve (Stephanie) of Ponte Vedra, FL, Kitty Marra (Robert) of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Andy (Annette) of White Plains, NY; and his stepmother, Marianne Haskin-Harrington. He is predeceased by his brother Paul of Florida. He will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Jamie’s honor:
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Jamie’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
