The Irish prayer "Death is nothing at all" is a powerful reminder that death is not the end, but merely a transition. It acknowledges the pain of loss while offering hope and comfort to those left behind. By reminding us that the bonds between individuals endure, even in death, the prayer provides a source of solace and strength for those grieving.
"Death is Nothing at All"
“Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.
AFTERGLOW
by Helen Lowrie Marshall
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

The news of Ed's passing hit me hard and my heart goes out to Gail, Mike and family those close to him.
My memories of Ed go back to competing with him in sports in high school, founding the Frogs, playing poker and in general just enjoying his company. He was a pleasure to be around and always entertaining. He will be missed.

Dear Gail, Mike and Maricel and all of the Delaney family I’m so sorry to hear about Eddie. I’ll always remember how Eddie had an interesting story to tell or a funny joke at any party or celebration.
The most special and memorable moments we had with our loved ones have an everlasting feeling. In that sense we have not lost them at all. They will live on in our hearts forevermore.

It has been more than a privilege to having known Ed for 40 years. I still definitely remember the beautiful wedding to his beloved Gail. His life force lifted my spirits every time I met. It was an honor to know him. His loss will be greatly felt by all who had known this beautiful human being.

Gail, we are so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. May his love for you give you peace to find comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.
Ed was one of the most charismatic persons I have ever known. So many good memories: office parties at the Brownstone, seeing him on St. Patrick’s Day with his top hat and whistle, and yes, his stories and sense of humor.
His was a life well lived. Let’s hope that he made it to heaven a half hour before the devil heard he passed and that right now he’s playing his best golf game ever!

Eddie will be sorely missed by so many folks. I have many memories of Eddie going back to Delaney's gas station in Yorktown Heights and on the fields of Brookside school playing Brewball and Super Bags. He was always the entertainer.
One memory in particular that comes to mind is Eddie using a Slip n Slide at the Granelli's home in Rhode Island. He was no spring chicken at the time but always up for a challenge and fortunately for all in attendance didn't get hurt. What a riot!!!
Heaven is a better place today. Skip & Lulu Ahneman
