I was privileged to know John originally as a fellow Physical Educator and then had the pleasure of teaching his sons at Somers HS. John set an example of kindness and professionalism. His smile and gentle manner was a magnet. He set an honorable example for others to follow. Gone too soon… My sincere condolences to Julie, Joe and James. I wish you all peace and comfort in the best of your shared memories.
John was a great person, teacher and coach as well and will be missed by all who new him through those times and experiences together!
We shared many conversations in the Graham Faculty Lounge on Joseph and James as they were growing up

We are very sad to hear the news of John’s passing. John was a special part of Luigi’s life and he will always cherish his memories with him. Julie, Luigi and I will pray for you the boys and the extended family during this difficult time.
We had the privilege of being John’s neighbor for over 25 years. He was a pillar of strength, always outside on his beautiful lawn and up for a chat with everyone on the street. John’s wisdom was always expressed with a twinkle in his eye. He will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts. - George & Michele Schreer
My deepest sympathies, Julie. May you find strength and comfort from your loved ones during this difficult time. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Only a couple of times in my life did I meet a man for the first time who after talking to him for a few minutes did it seem like I knew him for years. John was that kind of a guy. We shared life experiences that we both could relate to, much like old friends. John was to me a great friend and an outstanding person.
Marti and I ask God to bless John, Julie, and their family. May he rest in peace.
My heartfelt condolences to the Gherardi family. Countless of memories moving furniture and appliances with coach in CT. This was my couch throughout my years at MVHS. Great man, coach and mentor to all the people he touched. Blessing to the family and RlP coach. Ray L.
My sincere condolence to Julie and her family. I am so sad to hear this. I worked with John for many years at Graham Elementary school in Mount Vernon, New York. He was my son's (Bryan J Keeler) favorite gym teacher and a great friend to me. The last time I saw him, he came to my 60th birthday dinner party. He will greatly be missed. I Pray for comfort and strength for his family at this most difficult time. Sending hugs and prays to Julie, his son's and grandchildren. Gone to soon Sleep in Heavenly Peace John. Love Ms Constance Keeler
Sending condolences to Julie and her family on the passing of her beloved husband, John.
John, Julie and I attended mass together on Saturdays. He was most definitely a loving and kind man.
Prayers being sent to Julie and her family, for comfort and peace at this difficult time!
John was one of the kindest people Jonathan and I had the joy of spending time with. He was low key, with a gentle voice and told the most hilarious stories! John and Julie truly complemented each other and their love for each other so easy to see.
John loved life and made the most of it.
We will miss him very much.
