Obituary of Carol Brier

Carol Brier, 80, of Somers, NY, died on Sunday, May 4^th 2025 at The Paramount Nursing Home in Somers, NY

Carol was born in Flushing, NY, August 8, 1944 to Catherine and Charles Newman.

She graduated with honors in history and political science from Queens College in Flushing and later achieved a paralegal certificate from Mercy College in White Plains, NY. She was a trust and estates paralegal for many years at several law firms.

 Carol volunteered as a tour leader at the John Jay Homestead in Katonah, NY for many years. She was given access to the Jay files at Columbia University, which resulted in her research, and writing of the book: “Mr. Jay of Bedford” which was published in 2016 by Heritage Books.

Carol married Thomas Brier on April 26, 1969 in Flushing. Tom survives her after 56 years of a wonderful life together.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 8th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.

The Service will be at the funeral home on Friday, May 9th at 10:00 am.

  Interment will follow at Ivandell Cemetery, Route 202, Somers, NY
