Mr. Chuck Robinson rode a large speedy motorcycle well into adulthood, he slalom water skied with professional ability and taught many individuals this tricky skill, he restored antique grandfather clocks, he could fix things like a “jack of all trades”, at one time he drove the longest Cadillac that ever existed, he was robustly educated in college, and more importantly, he was a life long learner.- Honestly, this list could roll on as long as the Torah and I mean that with holy reverence.
Chuck loved life. If you are here or perhaps here in spirit, or electronically- you know he was a man of great depth. Handsome, funny, spirited, living on the edge, intelligent, thoughtful and immensely loving. His heart and capacity to love - to honestly love others was boundless. Once he opened the door - you were family forever.
We are joined here today- to say “goodbye” to a man who epitomized the word mensch. He will always hold room in our hearts. Chuck was special- a unique and beloved individual. Many tears have been shed, many memories shared and deep belly laughter heard across the miles. He was a man of great stature, generosity, moral grounding, and solid value systems.
I have no doubt that Chuck knows how deeply he was loved and the numerous lives he influenced. If you are here- you are family. And his family was his everything. Shed some more tears and then smile when you remember his love, his patience, his warm and solid hugs, and the numerous times he curled the boat back around to pick you up when you fell off the slolom ski. He was always there to pick you up. So - to the congregation I say: Lift up your hearts and model Chuck. Be there to pick up another individual. That way, Chuck will continue to be part of our Earthly lives. He will smile, the sun will shine and he will take pride in your Tikkun Olam efforts to repair the world.
