Obituary of Rebecca Fierro
Rebecca Jamesina Fierro (nee Szabo) passed away peacefully in her home in Moorestown, New Jersey on Friday September 12, 2025 surrounded by love and prayers. Rebecca is survived by her three children, Catherine, Caroline and Louis and her six grandchildren, Nicholas, Cole, Sam, Nolan, Ariel and Joshua. She was a devoted wife to her husband Louis E. Fierro, MD with whom she shared 56 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.
Rebecca graduated from Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 where she met and married her husband and until her passing she maintained friendships with her fellow nursing school friends. They eventually moved the family to Chappaqua, NY where Rebecca designed a stunning home and lavish gardens. Rebecca was well known for hosting beautiful, generous and delicious family and friend gatherings at the holidays along with gatherings to celebrate milestone life achievements.
Rebecca earned her Bachelors of Science from Mercy College in 1975 while raising her 3 children. Rebecca's passion for caring for others led her to serve on the Chappaqua volunteer ambulance corps and also as a certified hospice nurse.
Rebecca was truly at peace when she was submerged deep below the oceans surface – she traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean with the Jacques Cousteau Society and became an accomplished scuba diver as well as a professional deep water diving instructor.
Rebecca and her husband traveled with friends to places like India, Hong Kong, Japan and Italy.
