Obituary of Dale A. Cabiati
Sadly, our beloved Dale Ann Cabiati, of Somers, NY, passed away at 78 years of age on September 17th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born August 15th, 1947 to Ashton and Elsie Campbell, and raised in Montreal, QC, Dale was a proud Canadian to the end. She married her Bronx love, Jim, in 1970 and dedicated herself to her marriage and raising their five children in Somers, NY. She was a selfless and loving mother who made sure “Mom’s taxi” got her kids to swimming, soccer, and other activities, while also making sure a family dinner was a priority every night. She always put her children first and strived to see everyone together in happiness and harmony.
As her kids grew, Dale found time to work at the United Way, where she enjoyed meeting new people and helping others. Known for her stubborn streak and spunky spirit, Dale was affectionately called “Dale the Whale,” “On-Sale Dale,” and “Queen Dale” by those who knew her well. She enjoyed a great sale on broccoli and eating her steak blue. The mailbox was her worst enemy and gas stations were used only in emergencies.
Dale found pure joy watching her grandchildren play by the ocean during many family vacations to the Outer Banks, where she insisted her family needed to be spoiled with an over-the-top oceanfront house - moments that brought her immense happiness and peace. She was a woman of great strength, quiet perseverance, and unwavering love.
Dale is the beloved wife of James, and is the loving mother of Kara Serrado (Paulo) of Brewster, NY, Liane Lucantonio of Glenmont, NY, Jamie Guntert (Marc) of Greenville, NY, Paul Cabiati (Lynne) of Brewster, NY, and Steven Cabiati of Somers, NY. She is the devoted grandmother of Carlee, Ryan, Carmen, Lucas, Isabella, Ashton, Blake and Calvin, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She is also survived by her brother Stephen Campbell and predeceased by her sister Sandra Flynn (Gerry). Dale’s spirit of love and togetherness will continue to inspire all who have had the privilege of knowing her.
Friends may call to honor the remarkable woman she was at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY on Sunday, September 21st from 2:00 to 6:00 pm along with a service at the Funeral Home at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in her name to CoveCare Center, 1808 Route 6, Carmel, NY 10512, or online at: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/covecarecenter
