Obituary of Susan N. Nagle

Susan Nelson Nagle, 76, of Bedford, NY, died Monday, October 6th, 2025.

Susan was born on February 8, 1949, in Rockville Centre, New York to Larry and Aurora Nelson.

Susan was a Special Education Teacher for 30 years at P.S. 4 in the South Bronx. She was a graduate of Lesley College and Teacher’s College Columbia University, earning her Ed.M. in Special Education. Susan was an active member of Indian Harbor Yacht Club, a passionate gardener, and lover of fine antiques and jewelry. She will be remembered for her selfless spirit, infectious laugh and wit, and deep devotion to her family and friends.   

Susan is the beloved wife of Frederick F. Nagle and is the loving mother of Curtis Smyser Nagle (Rachel) of Bedford, NY, and Kierstin Aurora Crane (Court) of Katonah, NY. She is the cherished Gigi of Elsie Grace, Barbara James, and Margot Frederick Nagle, and Oliver Leslie Crane.  She is the adored sister of Julia Nelson, Arvid Nelson, Louise Dysenchuk, Mary Anne Grammer, Lawrence Nelson, and predeceased by Lawrence Nelson 2nd and Paul Nelson.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 7 Pound Ridge Rd, Bedford, NY on Saturday, October 18th at 11:00AM.  A celebration of Susan’s life will follow the Funeral Mass.
