Obituary of Michael F. Salerno
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael F. Salerno, who departed this life on October 12, 2025, at the age of 93. Michael was born on November 17, 1931, in the Bronx, NY.
Michael was a beloved father and friend, cherished by all who knew him. He graduated from Fordham University and dedicated his career to serving others as a pharmacist. In 2007, Michael and his daughter began working together at their store, Party Paper and Things in Cos Cob, CT. “Mikey,” as he was affectionately known, was loved by all. Many of his customers became lifelong friends, a testament to his warmth and kindness.
Throughout his life, Michael was known for his kindness, integrity, and devotion to his family. He touched the lives of many with his generosity, wisdom, and gentle spirit.
Michael was predeceased by his wife, Alice Ann; his brother, Richard; and his sister-in-law, Marion.
He is survived by his daughter, Juliann; his brother-in-law, Joseph; and his sister-in-law, Katie. He is also survived by his niece, Victoria, her husband Donald, and their daughter Grace, as well as many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Michael was especially devoted to the New York Yankees. As a teenager, he worked on the Yankees’ grounds crew, a memory he treasured throughout his life. He was also a passionate fan of the New York Giants and was thrilled to attend the Super Bowl in California where his Giants claimed victory. Michael enjoyed playing cards and took great pride in growing tomatoes.
Michael was a lifelong member of the Lewisboro Lions Club, where he served as president and contributed to the community he loved.
Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd, Katonah, NY, on Thursday, October 16, from 3pm to 7pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 17, at 10am at St. Mary’s RC Church, 55 Valley Rd, Katonah, NY. Interment will follow at South Salem Cemetery, Spring St, South Salem, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lewisboro Lions Club in Michael’s memory.
