Obituary of Ann Vance-Halloran
Ann Vance-Halloran (nee Crean), 89, of Somers, NY formerly of Bronx, NY died Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at The Paramount.
Ann was born on August 19,1936 in the Bronx, NY to the late Delia and Francis Crean. She attended Cathedral High School and Bronx Community College where she earned her registered nursing degree. She helped many people during her career and was most proud of her work at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, NY. It is there she worked closely with the facilities family-centered program which allows mothers who are incarcerated to have their children with them in separate wing and nursery until 12 months.
Ann was blessed with a loving family. She and her siblings Beatrice Murphy, Frances Mahland, Mary Lane and Andrew (Helen) Crean (predeceased by baby brother John) were raised by their Aunt Nellie and Uncle Andrew. Her favorites times were spent with her family in Long Island and Rockaway Beach. When the “Creans” got together the room was always filled with love and laughs.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Robert Vance and second husband John Halloran.
Ann is the mother of Chrystine Vance-Homer (Robert), (Katonah, NY and Southport, NC) and “favorite” grandson Brett Homer. She was the “cool” aunt to 20 nieces and nephews.
