Obituary of Nino Pappagallo

In loving Memory of Nino Pappagallo
September 14, 1943 – November 10, 2025

Nino Pappagallo was born in Italy on September 14, 1943, and brought with him the warmth, resilience, and traditions of his homeland when he immigrated to the United States. A gifted baker, Nino established a beloved bakery that served his community for over twenty years. His breads and pastries were more than food—they were a source of comfort, joy, and connection for generations of loyal customers who came not just for the flavor, but for the heart behind every loaf.

He was a man who found joy in the simple things: a nice glass of wine, a loaf of fresh Italian bread, and a home-cooked dinner surrounded by family. These moments, humble yet rich, were the heartbeat of his life.

Nino cherished nature and spent countless hours tending to his yard, where he cultivated beauty with the same care and patience he gave to everything in life. His garden was a reflection of his spirit—vibrant, generous, and full of life.

Above all, Nino was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a deeply cherished grandfather. He is survived by his loving daughters, Ann Marie Gazzola and Diane Laywell; his sons-in-law, Marc Gazzola and Chris Laywell; and his granddaughters, Kayla, Sydney, and Hannah, each of whom carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and kindness.

Now at peace, Nino is reunited with the love of his life, his beloved wife Kathy. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, and their reunion brings comfort to those who mourn his passing.

Nino’s memory will live on in the scent of fresh bread, making holiday cookies, the bloom of the garden, the laughter around a dinner table, and the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 14th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Of The Assumption Church,55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY

Interment will follow at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY
