Dolores (Cuomo) Smacchia

Dolores (Cuomo) Smacchia, 91, of Somers, New York, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born in the Bronx on April 28, 1934, Dolores was a proud graduate of Evander Childs High School. She went on to build a respected career in the optical industry, where she excelled as a contact lens specialist.

A longtime resident of Heritage Hills in Somers, Dolores embraced an active and joyful life. She loved playing golf, dancing, and spending time with family and friends at home in New York and during her cherished stays in Florida, where she created many lasting memories.

Dolores is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Smacchia; her loving son Nicholas and his wife Maria; her beloved grandchildren Marisa (Kenneth), Daniel (Jennifer), and Lisa; and her seven great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister, Joan.

Dolores will be remembered for her warmth, heart, and vibrant spirit. Her presence touched all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished always.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:30 am
