Obituary of Kevin K Finney
Kevin Kerry Finney was born on November 17, 1962, in Norwalk, CT, to Carol Wright and Donald S. Finney.
He grew up in Vista, NY, with his parents and five brothers, and moved to Tunbridge, VT, with his family for several years before moving back to Lewisboro.
Kevin was a graduate of John Jay High School Class of 1980 and a brief member of the Vista Fire Department along with his brothers Gene and Ken Finney.
Before settling down to start a family, Kevin “D. A. Wiz” Finney enjoyed travelling around New England with the Finney Auto Racing Team, taking his 280 modified race car (#17K) to every dirt track he could find.
He later grew to be a respected and well-known member of the local community during his long careers at Hoyt’s Garage, Marshall Oil Company, and as a mechanic for the Maintenance Department of the Town of Lewisboro.
He was known for his incredible work ethic and dedication to showing up for his friends and family, no matter the time of day. He took great pride in all his crafts, from servicing vital equipment, to creating whimsical garden art out of repurposed car parts, to growing twenty-foot sunflowers in his front yard.
He greatly enjoyed long road trips to upstate New York, Vermont, and Maine, tinkering on tractors in his garage late into the night, and sharing popcorn with his dog in his armchair at the end of a hard day of work.
Kevin passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 in Lewisboro at the age of 63. He is survived by his brothers Ken and Ernie, his wife Leah, and his children Carolee and Jack.
Kevin’s’ family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20th from 1:00 to 5:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
Interment will be private.
