Obituary of Maria A. Pelliccio
Maria Adelaide Pelliccio passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, December 26, 2025. She was 95 years old. Maria was pre-deceased by her husband Salvatore A. Pelliccio. Maria lived a long, wonderful life worthy of celebration. She was born on May 11, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, NY to Jennie and James Landino. Maria was raised there alongside her late siblings Eleanor Mangano and Pasquale Landino.
Maria married Salvatore, also from Mt. Vernon, NY, on May 20,1951. They met while working after school at Genung’s department store. Their first date at age sixteen spun into a life long romance. Maria and Salvatore had two daughters, Lorna Yvon (Patrice) and Sally Voss (Christian). Maria is also survived by four grandsons: Tyler, Charles, Cameron (Marion), Harrison, and great grandson Cameron Hayes Jr. They have all been the joy of her life.
Maria was a creative, modern young woman. Following her graduation from Edison High School, Maria became a dental hygienist. Maria was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was also a wonderful seamstress who from a young age designed and made her own clothes.
In 1968 Maria, Salvatore, and their daughters moved to Armonk, NY. Maria began working for North Castle Recreation. She taught sewing crafts at the summer camp and after school programs. Recognizing her warmth and compassion, in 1971 Maria was asked to be the director of the North Castle Senior Citizens. She held that post for over twenty five years and was celebrated for her contributions to the senior community.
In their later years, Maria and Salvatore enjoyed travel, dining out, and spending time creating memories with their family. A cherished wife, loving mother, Maria will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcomed to celebrate Maria’s life on Sunday, January 4th from 2 pm to 6 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 5th at 11am at Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 21 Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT.
