Obituary of Genevieve Condon

Genevieve Condon, 88, of North Salem, New York, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, January 8, 2026. 

Genevieve was born on August 27, 1937, in Queens, New York, to Anna (née Tansey) and James Regan. She was raised in Queens alongside her siblings Mary, Anne (deceased), and James. After graduating from Jamaica High School, she began her career at the New York Telephone Company.

In 1962, Genevieve married the love of her life, Thomas Condon, at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Flushing, New York. They began their family in Throggs Neck, New York, and later settled in the countryside of North Salem, where they raised their five daughters. Genevieve and Thomas shared 34 years of marriage until his passing in 1997.

Genevieve worked in the North Salem School District for many years until her retirement. She was well known and warmly regarded by her colleagues, with whom she formed lifelong friendships.

A beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal sister and friend, Genevieve was deeply devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. She was the heart of her family, known for her unwavering love, quiet strength, and the way she made everyone feel cared for. She filled their lives with love, warmth, and countless memories that will be held close forever. Her presence was a blessing, and her love will never leave those who knew her.

Genevieve is survived by her five daughters: Ann Marie Condon; Noreen Folchetti (Richard); Genevieve Farrell (Kevin); Christine Cunningham (Joseph); and Barbara Jean MacKenzie (James); her grandchildren: Kevin, Jaquelyn, Brittany, Richard, Taylor, Lauren, Casey, Owen, Nolan (deceased), Hannah, Ava, and Evan, and her great-granddaughter Rory; her siblings: Mary Regan and James Regan (Beatrice); her in-laws: Jack Condon (Virginia) and Theresa Burke (Bill, deceased). She is also fondly remembered by her longtime caregiver and dear friend, Neresa.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, New York. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York.
