Obituary of Thelma V. Barlow

Thelma V., Barlow, 94, a longtime resident of Shenorock, NY, died on February 20^th, 2026

Thelma was born in Cardiff, Wales on March 17, 1931 to George Victor and Catherine (Humpfries) Coates.

Thelma was well known as a long time Crossing Guard for the Somers Central School District.

She was a Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, a longtime member and served on the Altar Guild of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Granite Springs, NY.

Thelma was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Somers Fire Department and a member of the Yorktown Grange.

She enjoyed photography and she loved attending as many Boy Scouts events as possible.

Thelma was predeceased by her husband, William H. Barlow, Sr. who died August, 1989 and her son, William H. Barlow, Jr. who died November, 2011.

Thelma is survived by her son Keith G. Barlow and his wife: Kathy Casella Barlow, her grandchildren: Kathleen Barlow, Keith Barlow, William P. Barlow and Alexa Barlow and her daughter in law, Patricia (Perez) Barlow.

Her Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:00 pm at The Church of the Good Shepherd,

39 Granite Springs Road, Granite Springs, NY

The Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd or the Boy Scouts of America, Somers Troop 228 and 376.
