Obituary of Rose Sanna

Rose A. Sanna, of Somers, NY, and formerly of Pleasantville, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Natick, MA. Surrounded by her loved ones, Rose ended her courageous battle with lung cancer with the same fortitude she carried throughout her life.

Born in Manhattan on May 17, 1932, Rose was the daughter of the late Carmelo and Anna (nee Gianporcaro) Falcoabramo. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Sanna, with whom she shared 71 years of devoted marriage. Together, they built a life that defined the American Dream—rooted in hard work, integrity, and an open door for neighbors and friends. Their greatest achievement, however, was the sprawling, loving legacy of the family they nurtured together across seven decades.

Rose balanced a life of deep service to others. In addition to her full-time career as a mother, she spent 10 years working for Pace University’s Nurse Practitioner Program. In later years, she enjoyed winters in Jupiter, FL, where she volunteered her time at the Hospice of Palm Beach Resale. A master in the kitchen, Rose’s culinary heritage lives on through her children and her published cookbook of Sicilian-American recipes, “Rose’s Table.”

Rose is the loving mother of Connie (Bruce) Ventura of Natick, MA; Barbara (Michael) Collins of Natick, MA; James (Malinda) Sanna of Cold Spring Harbor, NY; and Ralph (Carolyn) Sanna of Wilton, CT. She is the devoted grandmother of Alicia, Joseph, David, Brett, Shawna, Thomas, Kellen, Katie, Raffi, and Luca, and the proud great-grandmother of eight. She is also survived by her sister, Constance Barcia; her brother, Robert Falcoabramo; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sanna; her sister, Angela D’Alessandro; and her brothers, Charles and Joseph Falcoabramo.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY on Wednesday, April 1 at 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.

Interment will be private.
