Obituary of Alton Moore

Alton R Moore, “Al” 95, of Cross River, NY died at his home in Cross River on Monday April 13, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born on February 1, 1931 in Cross River to the late Alton and Rebecca (Daisy) Moore.  He was a founding member of the Southern New York Racing Association before joining the United States Airforce where he proudly served his country during the Korean war.  Al had a lifelong career at Waccabuc Country Club where he was Golf Course Superintendent until his retirement.

Al was the beloved husband of the late Betty Moore (1936 – 2021).  They were married on January 17, 1953. He is the loving father of Linda, Cindy, Suzanne and Terry. He is the loving grandfather of Jessica, Missy, Billy, Lizzy, Alex, Katie, and Nick.  Al is the beloved brother of Violet Harris (1933 - 1971) and JoAnn Uetz of Quincy, MA.  He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services and interment are private.
