Obituary of Bruce Alan Prince
On Sunday, April 12, 2026, Bruce Alan Prince passed away at Northern Westchester Hospital at the age of 80. A gifted storyteller, Bruce would not want that to be the story we tell in his honor. Though he fought serious health battles from his late thirties to the present, he was determined to contain that part of his life. In those 40 years, Bruce lived life to the fullest — those are the stories we will continue to tell and remember him by.
Bruce was born in Brooklyn on April 4, 1946 to Betty and Irving Prince. As a child, he moved with his family to Westchester and grew up in Harrison with his parents and older brother Steven. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in architecture — he worked first a City Planner and then in the family textile business.
One needed only to spend a short time with Bruce before hearing incredible travel stories, many of which he immortalized in newsletter columns called “Tales of Adventure” and “On The Road Again”. He met his wife Linda, a Pan Am flight attendant, on the beach in 1972 in Mykonos, Greece. They married in 1978 and shared a love of exploring the world together and with their two sons.
Bruce was a skilled problem-solver: passionate, opinionated, and deeply committed to his community. He was president of his Co-Op in Manhattan, and of Condo 25 at Heritage Hills, where he moved in 2004 after retiring. At Heritage Hills, he served on many committees as Vice President of the Heritage Hills Society. His pet project is ready to be built: the patio behind the Activity Center will soon become a Sun Room overlooking the pond.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his type A personality, and his love for friends and family. His memory will be treasured by his wife Linda (nee Felix) of Somers, NY and sons Kenny (Aurora) and Brandon (Lauren) of Los Angeles, CA. He was the beloved “Papoosh” of grandsons Lucien and Ero, honorary grandfather to Elliott, uncle to his 4 nieces and nephews, and long-time friend of many.
The Funeral will be private. The Family will be at home if you care to visit on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, from 2-6 PM at 618 Heritage Hills, Unit A Somers, NY 10589.
