Obituary of John A. Corrao

John August Corrao, 86, of Somers, New York, passed away on April 15, 2026 at Northern Westchester Hospital. He was born on June 5, 1939 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, only child of Rita and John Corrao.

John cherished his Brooklyn memories, growing up in a close-knit Italian family among his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It is there he acquired his love of cooking and eating.

After graduating Brooklyn College, John applied his love of people and gift of gab to carry him through careers at Brooklyn Union Gas, Sheffield Watch, Hampton Designs, Jeep, Bloomingdales, Port Washington Real Estate, DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) and property management. John proudly served his community of Heritage Hills as a Board Member of Condo 12. John was also an active and devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church. He supported St. Joseph’s in the functioning of the cemetery, he participated in religious instruction, and he was a lector and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the homebound and nursing homes.

John was the loving husband of Jacqueline Corrao and devoted father to his daughter Jamie, who calls him “the best Daddy in the whole wide world.”

Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, New York on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 3 to 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, New York on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 10 AM. The Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
