I feel incredibly fortunate to have served with Doug on the BroadSoft Board. From the very beginning, he welcomed me warmly and made me feel like part of the team. He generously shared his wisdom and experience, and his thoughtful counsel benefited all of us. I thought we’d have years to learn from Doug and all of his wonderful, creative pursuits. So sad that he left us too soon.
What I will remember most is Doug’s genuine commitment to everyone he met—his mentorship, his kindness, and his deep dedication to his community. He made a lasting difference in so many lives and will be deeply missed.
My heartfelt condolences to the entire Maine family. Doug leaves behind an extraordinary legacy and many grateful friends and colleagues.

I am devastated to learn of Doug’s passing. We were fraternity brothers at Temple University and good friends. After our graduation while he was an executive with Zeta Beta Tau’s national office, he approached me to become an alumni advisor to our former chapter. The president of the chapter fixed me up on date with his sister, and we just celebrated our 51st anniversary. I owe much to Doug, and although we lost contact in recent years I followed his career with interest. He will be missed.

I had the chance to meet the Doug while a student at Columbia Business School. Doug was one of our executives in residence and always made the time to connect with students and provide support. When I expressed an interest in producing Broadway shows, Doug was willing to share his work investing and producing theater and give me tools and connections to realize my dreams. Throughout my CBS journey, Doug embodied a leader with empathy willing to support others and leverage his talents to raise up others. As I continue on my path, I'll continue to remember the impact Doug has had on me and so many other of my classmates.
May Doug's memory be a blessing. May his spirit and advocacy continue to live on in the hearts and ethic of the friends, family, and colleagues he has inspired throughout his life.

Dear Doug Maine Family - I worked with Doug for over 36 years. He was instrumental to my professional career and inspirational to me personally. We met when he was CFO of MCI. I was a newly appointed partner on the audit from Price Waterhouse. We realized at our first meeting that we attended Temple at the same time. After that we helped each other in business and supported each other in community interests, particularly Temple. I asked Doug to join a newly created advisory board and he willingly accepted. We became buddies for life. I will miss him dearly! Please accept my sincere condolences. Bob Tarola

My deepest sympathies to his wife and family. I got to know Doug at Columbia as we were Execs in Residence. He was candid, down-to-earth, wise, and supportive in our collaborations together. At one point I remember thinking to myself that if ever I had an opportunity to do more with him, I would jump at it.

When I started at Brown Brothers Harriman, Doug took me under his wing. As I got to know him better, I realized what an Interesting life he led. He was enormously curious and that curiosity drove him to be involved in so many disparate activities, I loved talking with him and seeking out his advice. I will miss his friendship. I am deeply saddened by the death of such a vibrant person. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

I had the privilege of knowing Doug over the last 15 years as a golfing buddy. Playing with Doug was always a fast affair; he had no patience for studying putts for ever. Riding around a golf course with Doug, gave us time to get to know each other. Doug was he most modest person I know, so accomplished, yet so humble. He was always tryin to help some organization or person. I am honored to have the opportunity to have know him. Many of us will miss him.
