Obituary of Joseph M. Mifsud

Joseph Mifsud (Joe), born on June 8, 1953 to John and Cornata Mifsud in Brooklyn, New York. He shared his childhood with his sisters Lina & Mary and countless cousins and friends. Proud of his Maltese heritage, he grew up in Whitestone, NY graduating from Bayside High in January of 1972.

Soon after, he fell in love with Pamela Diede, and wed on April 10, 1976, recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Together, they raised four children, Joey (Annette), John (Randi), Rob (Brittany) and Deanna (Gary Morettti). Their household was always lively to say the least.

Family was always Joe’s priority. He would do anything for his family and will be missed as a grandfather to Will, Joseph III, Douglas, Addison, Brianna, Elizabeth, Lucy, and Gary John.

In the fall of 1982, Joseph M. Mifsud Family Provisions formed and distributed Boar’s Head Brand Products in Manhattan and the NY metro area. He treated his customers like family for more than 35 years as he proudly championed the Boar’s Head Brand jobbing off his truck. His sons upheld his legacy.

Since 1986, Joe participated within St. Joseph’s Parish in Somers, NY and continued to attend throughout his battle of cancer. In his younger years he enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, hunting, The Catskills, getaways to Montauk and quintessentially knew how to have a good time. You could find him in Yankee stadium screaming at the top of his lungs - which he was really good at. Through all his devotion and life interests, he loved his wife Pam and the life they had built.

After a 2.5 year battle with pancreatic cancer, Joe decided to peacefully rest while surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Pam, their children and families, along with his sisters Lina (Wayne Farnsworth), Mary (Gito Mirabella) and extended family of Denise (Marengo), Ricky (Madeline Diede), Elise (Jimmy Lalik). He has countless family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and as a devout Catholic, a Godfather to Eric, Michelle, Kristen, and Peter.

In celebration of his life, remember him without tears and in the way he would want…with happiness, laughter and mind, body, and soul.

“SEE YA!!!!”
