Thomas Churchill Debany

October 6, 1959 – July 1, 2026

Thomas “Tom” Churchill Debany, 66, passed away on July 1, 2026. Born on October 6, 1959, in Houston, Texas, Tom was raised in and spent the majority of his life in Bedford, New York.

The third of ten children, Tom graduated from Byram Hills High School before going on to Pace University, where he graduated first in his Political Science major.

Tom was an avid skier who fell in love with the slopes of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. But his true peace was found closer to home, in nature, most especially at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, where he could often be found greeting the rising sun. Within the “Res,” he held a particular love for the quiet serenity of Kimberly Bridge.

Tom is survived by his siblings: Warren Debany (Beth), Marie Debany, Tim Debany (Betsy), Tony Debany (Lisa), Mike Debany (Merri), Larry Debany (Jacki), Alice Debany Clero (Remi), and Rich Debany (Patty), along with his 14 nieces and nephews and five step nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Warren and Patricia Debany, and his brother, John (Maikki) Debany.

Tom will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

His family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne and the staff at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, NY, for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided Tom in his final months.
