Obituary of Bruce E. Fusillo
Bruce Edward Fusillo, a retired social studies teacher, and a resident of Bedford Village, New York, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at the age of 71 due to complications following a series of strokes.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Fusillo, their two daughters, Kate Schmidt and Karen Zaiger, and his four grandchildren.
Bruce was born on August 28, 1948 in White Plains, New York to Agnes and C. Frank Fusillo. He graduated from Kent State University in 1970 and received his master’s degree in education from Pace University. He started working at Westlake High School in Thornwood, New York in 1971, where he met his devoted wife of 47 years, Eileen.
Bruce was an incredibly hard working, dedicated, and well-loved high school teacher. Westlake was his second home, and he is fondly remembered amongst alumni for his obsessions with cows, plaid, hall passes, and his offbeat sense of humor.
Bruce was also a loving husband and father. He loved to travel and explore the world, giving his wife and daughters many amazing memories and experiences. In his retirement he perfected the art of mediocre golf, greatly enjoyed spending time with his close friends, and adored his two dogs.
His family will be receiving visitors at Clark Associates Funeral Home — 4 Woods Bridge Road Katonah, New York — on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 1 to 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Kent State University and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity per Bruce’s wishes.
