Obituary of Robert D. Milton

Milton, Robert D., 76, of Mohegan Lake, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. He was born on September 28, 1943 to Leo and Ethel Milton. Robert graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY in 1961. He went on to graduate with honors from Rider College in New Jersey. Robert began his career as an educator in the Trenton, NJ school system. He spent several years teaching, guiding and mentoring special needs students whom he cared and advocated for as though they were his own. In the mid-seventies, Robert moved back to Westchester to be closer to his family and pursue his dream of riding horses professionally. Throughout his career, Robert competed in many prestigious equestrian events. Robert’s life was driven by his passion for riding and for instilling that same love of riding in each of the students he taught throughout the years. Robert was intelligent, passionate and he was a stickler for the rules of etiquette associated with horseback riding. Throughout his life, Robert was surrounded by companions and friends, who brought him so much joy, comfort and great love. Robert was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and confidant. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Maria Milton as well as five nieces and nephews and fifteen grandnieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. Interment on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, NY.
