Obituary of Agnes B Flannery

Agnes B. Flannery (née Timlin) With great sadness, we announce the passing of Agnes B. Flannery (néeTimlin) of Somers, NY on Friday, April 10, 2020 at the age of 89. Agnes was born in County Mayo, Ireland on January 24, 1931 to Ann Moran and David Timlin. She was one of 11 children. Agnes left Ireland and moved first to London, England where she lived for two years before coming to New York City in 1952 and shortly after, met the love of her life, James Flannery — also from County Mayo, Ireland. They married in 1953 and owned several restaurants in Queens and Long Island where they resided until 2003. They moved to Danbury, CT and then to Somers, NY to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Somers, NY. Nothing was more important to Agnes than the love for her family. She is survived by her three children, James, Debbie (Paul) Purvis, Karen (Mark) Grathwohl, and her grandchildren- Michael (Andressa) Grathwohl, Sean Grathwohl, Elizabeth Grathwohl, Erin Purvis and Paul Purvis. She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters and many nephews, nieces and extended family. She was predeceased by four brothers. She was the matriarch of the family, the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew her. She passed on Good Friday just as her husband James did 12 years prior. May they together Rest In Peace now and forever. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
