Obituary of Arnold Carl Folberth, Jr.

Arnold Carl Folberth Jr., a resident of Lake Purdy for over 30 years, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. He was 83 years old. Arnold was born on February 18, 1937 in Manhattan to the late Arnold Carl Sr. and Edna Folberth. After graduating Somers High school in 1956, he attended Mercy College and Purchase College studying Art and Literature. Arnold then served in the army from 1960- 1962, stationed in Korea where he was a supply sergeant. Arnold later worked as an electrician for the Local 3 of IBEW in Flushing, NY for 41 years. He worked all over New York city providing services for NBC, Hatsel and Bueller, Forrest Electric, and AC Klein. Arnold was an avid member of the Somers Senior Center, the Putnam Valley Senior Center, the William Koehler Memorial Center, the Widow/Widowers Club and also was an active participant in the Yorktown American Legion, and the Westchester/Putnam Retirees Chapter of Local Union #3 of the IBEW. He enjoyed traveling, and truly enjoyed family gatherings. His family was his pride and joy. Arnold was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann Folberth, and was the loving father of Charlene Slyer (Doug), Ann Nelson (Nancie Marchi) and, Arnold Folberth (Kristen). He is also the beloved grandfather of John Schoenfelder, Samantha Schoenfelder, Sabrina Schoenfelder (Ryan Champagne), Bobby Nelson (April), and Kevin Nelson; and the cherished great-grandfather of Sylvia Champagne. Arnold is also survived by his siblings, Robert Folberth (Patricia Hartwell), Harriet Viebrock (Roy), and Ellen Wilford (Fred) A memorial service will be held for Arnold at a later date.
