Obituary of Joseph Ferentini

Joseph Ferentini of South Salem, NY and formerly of White Plains, NY, passed away on May 2nd after a long battle with cancer. He was 61 years old. Joe was born and raised in the Bronx where he attended Mount St. Michael High School. He graduated from Iona College in 1979, where he also earned his Masters Degree in Accounting and worked in NYC as an accountant for several years. Due to his love of traveling and adventure, Joe moved into the travel agency business where he worked as an agent for the past 25 years, most recently at American Express Travel Desk in Stamford, CT. This allowed him to explore the world and share his exploits with family and friends. Florida was his favorite and most frequent destination and where he had planned to retire. Joe was predeceased by his beloved mother, Maria Ferentini, and survived by his father Orlando Ferentini, his sister Cathy Ferentini, his brother Thomas Ferentini and sister-in-law Jennifer Ferentini. He is also survived by his nephew and godson Matthew Ferentini, and his niece Kaitlyn Ferentini, who he loved tremendously and was a frequent visitor at their school and sporting events, and where he developed his famous nickname of “Goomba Joe” among their friends. At this time, Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY, will be unable to hold traditional services. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Joe will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
