Obituary of George M. Caulfield

George Maurice Vincent Caulfield, 87 of Somers, NY formerly of Dix Hills, NY died on Friday, June 19, 2020 in Mineral, VA surrounded by loved ones.

George was born on November, 26, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Lily and George M. Caulfield III. George attended Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn, NY and later enlisted in the Navy where he served from 1952-55. He attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice then began his career as a NYC Firefighter where he ultimately retired as FDNY Captain of Tactical Control Unit 712 in the Bronx.

George was actively involved with his condo board, and served as President of his community Garden Club. Gregarious to those he knew and strangers, he enjoyed golfing with his friends at Mohansic, Bethpage, and Crab Meadow Golf Leagues. He also found delight in woodworking and volunteering for Green Chimneys.

George is the beloved husband of Rosemarie; devoted father of Lorraine (Louis) of Pine Bush, NY, Thomas (Sandra) of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Leslie (David) of Mineral, VA; adoring grandfather of Steven, Christen, Sean, Alexandra, Matthew, Erin and Christopher; doting great grandfather of Stella, Holden, Roman and Abigail; and loving brother of Dorothy Rocco of Winchester, CA.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, June 27 at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd, Katonah, NY from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
