I did not know from Florence. It was always “Doris”. Doris worked in my Family’s business for decades. Tuesday through Saturday that short walk over from Edgemont Road to the corner of Katonah Avenue and Valley Road. Always well dressed in either a dress or a skirt and blouse with a perfect hairdo.
A sympathetic ear listening to everybody’s concerns. A loyalty to my Mom and Dad that never wavered.
Long before women’s lib, Doris could beat man or woman on the bowling lanes.
