Obituary of Krystyna M. Egnor

Krystyna M. Egnor “Krissy”, 75, of Lincolndale, NY passed away Thursday March 25, 2021 at Waterview Hills Nursing Home in Purdys, NY.  Krissy was born September 17, 1945 in Mariental, Germany. She came to the United States at the age of 6 with her mother Maria Misiewicz and brother George.

When her mother became unable to care for her, she was fostered for many years by Anna and Robert Wallace of Rye, NY. In their care she remained in contact with her mother and formed close loving relationships with numerous foster brothers and sisters.

Krissy was a graduate of Rye High School and attended Norwalk Community College and Mercy College. She retired from the Greenwich Library after 42 years of service as a Library Technical Assistant in 2007. She also served for 26 years as a voting member of the board of the Greenwich Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union.

Krissy enjoyed 49 years of marriage to her husband Richard. She is survived by nieces April and Kelly. Her loving relationship with her husband was one to envy. The excitement in her eyes as her partner sang and played the bass in his band was incredibly heartwarming. She was his biggest fan. The pair shared incredible travels and experiences for many years and he will miss her dearly.

Most important is what all will remember about her. She actively loved and cared for all walks of life, whether it be her family, the endangered species of the world, the feral cats in the yard or the children in the library. She was a frequent benefactor of the ASPCA, WWF, and her local animal shelters. Krissy also lived a life full of critters of her own. Cats, dogs, a bunny and even the neighborhood raccoons felt the love and care of the snacks Krissy generously shared.

Those lucky enough to have memories of Krissy, will recall her contagious laugh, adventurous stories, and sense of humor. She was a vivacious woman who embraced life with many laughs. Her bold bright orange nails announced her effervescent nature which we will all remember fondly.
