Susan Heins posted a condolence
Tuesday, May 31, 2022
Bill Kuebler was a very important part of my teen years. He was my sister's boyfriend at the time. He was always kind and sweet to me and more of a brother figure than my own brother. A piece of my heart if broken because I don't think he will ever know how much he meant to me and my entire family. Lori, we were in the same grade at EHS. I'm so happy he found you. My deepest sympathy and prayers to you and your family. Susan Heins

Today was the first for the spring reopening of the TIOLI at Chappaqua. NY. I was so saddened to see Bill's picture and dates of birth and death. I knew Bill primarily from the TIOLI and his occasional visit to the Chappaqua Library. He was a pleasure to know and a real gentleman. My condolences to his widow and extended family ! Bill worked with me at WLT for years. He was always ready to lend a hand without being asked and with a smile on his face. I miss his lighthearted demeanor which always put things into perspective!

Bill was affectionately called "Smilin' Billy K" in The Journal News newsroom for his always affable personality and easy-going manner. He was a professional when it came to his work as photographer and photo editor. He got the job done with grace and a smile no matter how intense the situation. After he left the paper we stayed in touch and got together often for lunch at some local burger joint or diner. After a hiatus of several years we managed to get together last month for a long overdue reunion and I am so grateful for that last get together - Robert F. Rodriguez
