Obituary of Leo Meltzer

Leo Meltzer, 94, a resident of Somers, NY, died August 14 after a long illness. He was born August 21, 1922 in Manhattan’s East Village, the son of Abraham and Sarah Meltzer, immigrants from Russia. He married Caryl (Schall) Meltzer in 1957; the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in April. Working by day and studying by night, Leo graduated from Baruch College of the City College of New York and received a Master’s Degree from the City University of New York. He worked many years in the fields of public accounting and taxation, ending his career as Manager of Taxation for Ogden Allied Corporation. Before Somers, he and his family lived in Yonkers, Ardsley and Mount Kisco, NY. He is survived by his son Steven (Lauren) of Winchester, MA, and Alan (Anna) of Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, and granddaughters Emma, Anya and Olga. PLEASE NOTE: THE FUNERAL SERVICE HAS BEEN CHANGED. IT WILL NOT BE AT THE FUNERAL HOME. THE GRAVESIDE SERVICE WILL BE AT SHARON GARDENS CEMETERY, 273 LAKEVIEW AVE, VALHALLA, NY ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 18 @ 1:00PM.
