Obituary of Paul E. Paglia

Paul E. Paglia of Katonah, NY died peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at The Paramount Nursing Center in Somers, NY with family by his side.

Paul was born in Syracuse, NY on July 30, 1939 to the late Paul and Mary Paglia.  He left Syracuse to attend C. W. Post College in Brookfield, NY where he majored in American History.  After graduating, he moved to New York City to work for Mutual of New York.  In 1972 he moved to the Readers Digest, and worked in the New York City office, where he worked for ten years before moving back to Mutual of New York.  He was an avid train and subway rider and knew his way around town better than most. In later years he segued into self employment as an insurance salesman.  He also made time to volunteer at Northern Westchester Hospital.

 

Paul married Anne Wageman on May 1, 1971 in Brooklyn, NY.  They remained in New York City until February, 1976, when they moved to Katonah, NY.  Paul loved his home in Katonah and, in later years, could be seen walking around town.

 

Paul was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Katonah since 1983.   He was one of the early members of The Men’s Breakfast in the late 80’s.  He also enjoyed working at the annual Spring Rummage Sale, especially riding out in the truck to pick up donations.

 

Paul is survived by his wife, Anne, and his children Christina of Mt. Kisco, NY, David of Brooklyn, NY and Francesca (David) Tschorn of Carmel, NY. and his grandson, Noah. Paul is also survived by his sister Joanne (Peter) Tonzi of Syracuse, NY and  by many nieces and nephews.

 

Final arrangements were done privately by Clarks Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY.
