He was born in New York City, the son of Giocchino and Teresina (Maffei) Addesso. Lou proudly served in the US Marine Corps during WW II in the Pacific-Asiatic Theatres
He was employed by the City of New York and District Council #37 AFSCME/AFLCIO where he served as a Grievance Representative in the Blue Collor Division servicing six local unions. He was President of the New York Bilikens baseball organization in The Bronx, a former Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Santa Maria Chapter of the Knights of Columbus, Bronx, NY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a loyal fan of the NY Yankees.
Lou is survived by his sons: Jack (Angela) of Carmel, NY and Angelo (Carole) of Happauge, NY. and is also survived by his grandchildren; Adam and Jack, Louis and Nicole and 3 great grandchildren: Alayna, Camryn and Alexander.

She was employed as a Secretary for Tanrakin Farm in Bedford Hills for many years.
Jane was pre deceased by her beloved husband, Lloyd Franklin Banks who died on Dec 15, 2003 and her daughter-in-law Mary Denise Banks who died in 1996.
Jane is survived by her loving children: Lloyd Banks, Jr. of Bedford Hills, Kathleen Taylor (Theodore) of Westport, NY, John Banks (Deborah) of New Rochelle, NY, Robert of Poughkeepsie, NY and Jeffrey of Poughkeepsie.
She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Melissa, Jennifer, Scott, PJ, William, Jillian and Matthew and Bobo. Jane is the sister of Carolyn Fazzinga and Diane Netsch (John) and many nieces and nephews and her cousin: Peter Crane (Marion).

William A Bauman, MD
William Allen Bauman, MD, of Somers, NY died on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the age of 89.
William was born on November 23, 1923 in New York City, the son of a prominent New York physician, Dr. Louis Bauman and Mrs. Stella Bauman of New York City and later of Larchmont, NY. He attended Phillips Academy in Andover MA, graduating in 1942 and then enrolled at Harvard College. He continued his education in an accelerated pre-medical program during World War II and received his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in 1947.
After completing his internship at Kings County Hospital, in 1948, he served as a resident in Pediatrics at The Babies Hospital of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, completing his residency in 1950. He enrolled in the Air Force in 1951 and served as a Captain and continued practice at Mitchell Air Force Base in the Medical Corps before receiving an honorable discharge in 1952. It was during this time that he met and then married Joan Carlsen, in 1952, his beloved wife for 60 years. He was appointed to the Faculty of the Department of Pediatrics in the College of Physicians and Surgeons and practiced at The Babies Hospital from 1953 to 1975, where he served as Chief of the Pediatric Clinic, and he pursued research interests, published studies in cystic fibrosis and respiratory distress in infants. His interest in clinical research led him to study Biostatistics and to return to the School of Public Health of Columbia University in 1960 until 1963. William was asked by the President of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center to establish the first medical data processing department, where he served as the first director from 1966-74.
His interest in computers and medicine spanned nearly five decades, and as one of the pioneers in this newly developing field, he served as President of the American Association of Medical Systems and Informatics (AAMSI). In 1983 he was elected an inaugural fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics in 1984. He left Columbia-Presbyterian in 1974 to become Vice-President of Medical Administrative Services for GHI and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Hillcrest General Hospital in Queens until 1979. He was then appointed Vice-President of Medical Affairs at The Danbury Hospital in Connecticut where he remained until he retired in 1990. Following retirement from The Danbury Hospital, he served as a medical consultant and Chair of the Committee on Communications and Information Technology for the New York State Medical Society from 1993 until 2007. He later returned to pursue his first passion in caring for children, and volunteered at a pediatric clinic in Danbury, Connecticut.
Throughout much of his professional career, he was a devoted supporter of the P & S Club at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, the most comprehensive medical student activities organization in the United States and also served as chair of the faculty advisory board of the P & S Club for two decades, until 1990.
William Bauman was the beloved husband of Joan Carlsen Bauman, dear brother of Elfreida Eckels, devoted father to William, Phillip (Milbry Polk) & Pamela (Nicholas Pitasi) and loving grandfather to Adelaide, Bree, Lindsay, Mary, Nicholas and Allison.

Bergman, Alexander J. age 23, of Somers, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 9, 2012. Alex was born January 20, 1989 in Tampa, FL. and is the beloved son of Dale J. and Gail A. (Dietz) Bergman.
Alex graduated from North Salem High School in 2007. He excelled in academics, lacrosse and football and was a recipient of The National Merit Scholarship Award. He enjoyed boy scouts, playing piano and achieved a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. He attended Boston College where he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in English. Alex was employed by J & J Pharmacy in Teaneck, NJ.
In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his maternal grandfather, Calvin E. Dietz, his Uncle Cliff and Ruth Ann Bergman, Aunt Cheryl and Tony Lupia of Reading, PA, Uncle Craig Dietz of Houston, TX and 9 cousins.

Blaney, Henry Joseph (Hank) born April 8, 1935 and raised in Jackson Heights, New York. He died peacefully on November 19, 2012 after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Hank graduated from Manhattan College and New York University with advanced degrees. He was an electrical engineer whose career spanned several decades at Bell Labs, AT&T, NY Telephone, NYNEX and Verizon, where he was on the forefront of innovative telecommunications technology.
Hank particularly enjoyed Irish music and culture, and among the highlights of his life were his trips to Ireland to trace his family roots and visit relatives. He was also an avid photographer.
Hank’s faith also gave him great comfort. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s parish in Bedford, N.Y.
Hank was devoted to his family, and particularly later in his life, his grandchildren gave him great joy.
Beloved husband and father, he leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Kathleen; daughters Mary (Dozois) and Diana (Sabados); sons, Henry, Daniel, and Thomas; brothers John and Richard; sisters Arline (Pavlochik) and Margaret (Christy), nine grandchildren, Kevin, Michael, Matthew, Daniel, Emmet, Ian, Ailish, Dylan and Kyle; and numerous extended family.

Brailey, Donald M. of Goldens Bridge, passed away on July 7, 2012 at the age of 63. Don was born on July 7, 1949 and raised in Niantic, CT, where he graduated from New London High School. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he became a proud member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, supporting and regularly attending house functions. His studies were interrupted by service in in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, Don graduated from RPI with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
An accomplished professional engineer with Metcalf & Eddy and later Hazen & Sawyer in New York City, Don worked on significant projects for the New York City water supply and wastewater treatment, water supply development in the western states, and wastewater projects in Australia and Singapore. Don will be remembered for his love of reading, his remarkable intellect, his generosity and his wonderfully quirky sense of humor.
His parents, Donald W. and Barbara Brailey, predeceased him. He is survived by his loving daughter Abby, wife Susan, his brothers David and his wife Linda, Kip and his wife Kim, Michael and his wife Jenny and his nieces and nephews Brooke, David, Andrew, Liam, William and Claire.

Breitenbruch, Edith age 91, a resident of Katonah, NY for 56 years, died on March 22, 2012 at Northern Westchester Hospital after a brief illness. Ms. Breitenbruch was born January 3, 1921 in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY. She was predeceased by her father, George Breitenbruch, her mother, Frances (Voltz) Breitenbruch and her sister, Harriet Breitenbruch.

Cakavell, Doris age 77, of Pound Ridge died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Greenwich Hospital. Mrs. Cakavell was born February 17, 1935 in New York City. She is the daughter of the late Alfred and Friedel (Hempel) Lachhein.
Doris held many positions for the Town Of Pound Ridge during her 42 year career, most recently as Town Receptionist. She was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Norwalk, CT.
Doris is survived by her husband: George A. Cakavell; her daughter Leslie Dickert; a son, Jonathan Dickert; a daughter, Deborah (Makoto) Wray Kikuchi; two grandsons, Robert and Christopher Wray and a stepson, Frank Dieter Cakavell.

Cambere, Frances C. 102, of Somers, NY a former longtime resident of Pelham and Bronxville, NY died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Waterview Hills Nursing Home, Purdys, NY.
Mrs. Cambere was born March 25, 1910 in Mount Vernon, NY. to Emanuel and Carmela (Ciatti) Cuzzi.
She attended schools in Mt. Vernon and was a member of the first graduating class of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville majoring in Liberal Arts. While in college, she was active in tennis, golf and fencing and later received a business degree from Katherine Gibbs School in NYC.
Mrs. Cambere enjoyed a successful and interesting business career, associated for many years with the Seas Shipping Co., Inc. of New York, a family holding corporation which owned and operated numerous worldwide trade cargo ships. Throughout her life, Mrs. Cambere enjoyed spending time with family, traveling worldwide, reading, cooking, playing bridge and watching sports.
She married Ara Cambere on July 10, 1971. Mrs. Cambere was predeceased by her husband, Ara, her brothers: Joseph, Nicholas and Frank Cuzzi and her sister Anna (Nina) Orsenigo.
She is survived by a large and loving family including her dear sister, Rita Kenedy of Saranac Lake, NY, her stepchildren: Yvonne Cambere, Sandy Mumbach, Peter Cambere, Kathy Muller, John Cambere and Rick Cambere, her step grand and great-grandchildren, and her eleven nieces and seven nephews.

Mr. Joey C. Chan, 76 of Morris Plains, NJ, formerly of Ridgefield, CT, passed away peacefully with his wife, daughter and son in law by his side at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, New York Westchester County. He was born on September 14, 1935 in Nanjing, China to the late Wu Chang Chan and Lu Yin Bin Chan. He was the youngest of nine children. His brothers and sisters were all physicians in Mainland China. A graduate of National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, he earned a B.A in Finance and Economics. He earned his MBA at New York University in Finance in 1970. He married Dr. Linda Reyes Chan on December 27, 1969, his beloved wife of 42 years.
He was the former President of the Northern New Jersey Chinese Association
and a member of Mensa International (High IQ Society).
Mr. Chan retired as the Founder, Chief Executive Officer/President of Tian Yuan Trading Company in Nanjing, China. His company imported and exported medical and surgical supplies. His daughter, Dr. Alexandra Chan (Katz) was appointed as CEO and President on April 6, 2012 as the company expanded its focus on Investment Management and wealth growth in the USA and Asia.
Mr. Chan is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Linda Reyes Chan of 42 years of Morris Plains, NJ, his daughter, Dr. Alexandra Chan (Katz) and son in law Dr. Jack H. Katz of Pound Ridge, NY and Southampton, Long Island and his son, Augustine Reyes Chan of New York, NY.
He will be deeply remembered for his brilliance, kindness, generosity, charisma and charm and the remarkable love he had for his wife and two children. He was a doting husband and father and his family was the true love of his life.

Chiappinelli, Albert Jr. (“Chip” to all who knew him), died (6/1/2012) in Northern Westchester Hospital after a valiant fight against cancer. Born August 10, 1932 in Mt. Kisco, Chip spent his childhood atop the family store on Lexington Avenue owned and run by Albert and Rose Chiappinelli, long-time Mt. Kisco residents known to many by their generosity and industriousness. He grew up learning the value and rewards of hard work from them, seeing his immigrant father work his way up from stonemason to businessman pursuing the American Dream to finally reach the top of the “hill”–the lovely Victorian at the top of Captain Merritt’s Hill that was to become their home.
Like his father, Chip was a hard worker who pushed himself to reach the top of his own “hill”–and there were many. Valedictorian at Mt. Kisco High in 1950, he attended Hamilton College in upstate NY and graduated with honors in 1954. Instilled with his immigrant father’s sense of duty to this country, he enlisted in the armed forces, serving several years both in the US and abroad. Upon returning, he launched himself into the nascent world of computers, working at some of the biggest names in the industry–from Sperry Rand to IBM. He left those pioneering companies to pioneer on his own, starting Computer Methods Corporation (CMC), a computer consulting and operations company, with no more than a dream and two friends. Applying the same drive he applied to all areas of his life, he grew CMC into a successful company that employed hundreds. Marrying the former Roseanna McQuade (Mitzi) in 1957, he and Mitz grew their own little “company” of five children. They moved to Katonah, building a home (with his father’s help) at the top of Katonah Ridge, where they remained residents for 49 years.
After selling CMC, Chip spent several years consulting to American Express before deciding to take a more active role in his own community. Whether at a political event, a fund raiser, helping at St. Mary’s parish or pacing the sidelines as his children played sports at John Jay, Chip took great pride in fostering the growth of those around him. Ever the devoted son, he took over caring for his mother after his father passed away, and stepped into the role of patriarch for the next several decades. While his later years were spent battling cancer, he never lost the drive and passion to excel in whatever he did and to foster those same qualities in his own children.
Chip is survived by his wife Mitzi, his five children: Lisa (Stuart) Sutherland, Andrew (Ann), John (Debbie), Peter (Sheryl) and Brian (Kathryn) Chiappinelli, his nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a brother: Donald and two sisters: Frances Brideau and Agnes Nelson. His whole family was there caring for him at the end, but none more so than his wife of 55 years.

Ciarcia, Florence 83, of Somers, previously of Bronxville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2012 in Carmel, NY. Born May 23, 1928, she is the daughter of the late James Patrick and the late Eva Marie (Miller) Killeen. She was employed as a secretary at Electrical Instrument Service of Mt. Vernon, NY for many years. She is survived by her loving daughter Margaret and son-in-law Frank Belloni of Carmel, many nieces and nephews, and, most of all, her beloved dog Bleu. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred. Flo loved her job and accepted retirement only begrudgingly. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, especially on the QVC channel, her Teddy bears and other collectibles, and, above all, her many Yorkshire Terriers over the years. John Charles Cunniffe, age 46, of South Salem, NY died on December 2nd after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). John was a graduate of John Jay High School in Cross River, NY and while there earned All-American honors in Lacrosse. To this day, John still holds the record for single-season points and single season assists. After graduating, he went on to earn a degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. John was stationed in Bamberg, Germany where he fell in love with the culture and beauty of the country. An avid skier, John spent every weekend ripping down the Autobahn to ski in Kitzbuhel, Austria. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, even running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain four times. John served in Operation Desert Storm, and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service during the war.
John was a member of the Executive Board of Directors for John Jay Youth Lacrosse, and by volunteering his time as a coach, forged many positive relationships along the way. He began coaching before his own children were old enough to participate. He genuinely cared for the boys he coached. John’s priority in coaching was to pass on the love of the game of lacrosse.
His many accomplishments pale in comparison to his major role: that of father and husband. He truly enjoyed the simple happiness of spending time with his wife and children. He was a fixture on his front lawn or the high school turf playing with his son and daughter. He was extremely proud of his children’s big and little accomplishments. He took care to make his wife feel special, taking her on special dates and many canoe rides. He was also a great vacation planner, getting much pleasure out of organizing trips for his family that left no detail ignored.
John was a man of tremendous courage, drive, wisdom, and character. He did the right thing, without thinking twice. When he was diagnosed with ALS, he became actively involved in advocating for his health and the health of others, he cared for and protected his family, and he shared his resources with others. John gained a tremendous amount of insight into what was important in life, and he made sure he found good in each day. This outlook guided his family, who also took a positive approach to their attitudes in how they endured the journey of ALS together. John’s positive attitude towards his disease affected all those around him. He showed people how much good could come out of something that seemed so bad.
The Cunniffe family is eternally grateful for the compassionate help they received from so many people in so many ways. The Lewisboro community is an extremely special place; John was very touched by the show of support, care and concern he received from so many people, stretching from the youngest of the young to the parents of his friends. They are also so very grateful to the John Jay Varsity Lacrosse teams, past and present, Christian McCarthy, and Coaches Schurr and Nolan, who made sure John could be a part of each game as his disease progressed, John Jay Youth Lacrosse, those at US Lacrosse, PrimeTime Lacrosse, and others affiliated with the game, the West Point Community, Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the South Salem Fire Department, his longtime friends from childhood, his brother and sister, his trusty helper, Florence, and the many friends and community members he grew close to as they assisted John and his family.
John leaves behind his wife, Melissa, and his children Eliza and Charlie. Visiting hours are Thursday, December 6 at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY from 2-4 and 7-9. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Ridgefield, Ct. Friday at 10:15. Constantino, Teresa R. age 76, of Somers, NY, and a former 30 year resident of Pound Ridge, NY died Monday, May 14, 2012 at her daughters’ home. She was born July 3, 1935 in The Bronx, the daughter of the late Salvatore and the late Rosa (Sberna) Puglia.
Teresa was a graduate of Christopher Columbus HS, Bronx NY, in 1953 and Hunter College in Manhattan & The Bronx NY 1957 with a BA Degree in Education.
She was a Teacher with the Port Chester School District and will be remembered for her compassion and her love of God, family and friends. She enjoyed needlework & crafts, and had a love of antiques.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Constantino who died on April 3, 2000.
She is survived by her twin sister, Agata McCusker of Clinton, NY, her two daughters: Andrea (Joseph) Neri of Patterson, NY, and Stephanie Chisolm of Maryland and one son: Joseph (Virginia) Constantino, Jr. of Carmel, NY; her granddaughters: Claire , Katherine and Caroline Chisolm , Maria, Teresa and Francesca Neri; and her grandson, Nicholas Constantino.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Joan Giordano and Angela Cristentello and 10 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

Crucy, Virginia Schmidt died peacefully on October 20 at the age of 87. Virginia, the daughter of Carl J. and Elsie Berg Schmidt, was raised in North Tarrytown. She was a proud graduate of North Tarrytown HS, class of 1943, and attended business school in New York City. Virginia married Edward F. Crucy on August 17, 1957 and together they raised their children Susan and Robert in Yonkers. They moved, year round, to South Salem in 1985 after being summer residents for 20 years. Virginia was a dedicated executive assistant for many years. In 2008 she retired from her last position of Senior Adult Director for the Department of Parks and Recreation of the Town of Lewisboro. Throughout her life Virginia was an active and engaged volunteer for numerous organizations especially her church and in 1994 was inducted into the Westchester County Senior Citizens Hall of Fame. Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Burkhardt of Tarrytown, her extended Burkhardt, Yonkers, Mangano and Crucy family and many close friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward and son Robert. Davies, Madolin Clark 96, a lifelong resident of Katonah, died on June 10, 2012. She was born on February, 24, 1916 to Fredrick Stephen Clark and Ethel May Clark. She never retired, as she was a homemaker, caretaker, and mother. Madolin was a proud descendant of The Settlement of 1680, and graduated from Katonah High School in 1933. She briefly attended nursing school in Grasslands, but her heart was in Katonah.
She was the oldest surviving member of the First Presbyterian Church in Katonah. The church was a constant throughout her life and a true source of comfort and strength. She was married there in 1941, and each of her five children were baptized there. In her earlier years she was active in the church, working the rummage sale and the “Pres Notes” church publication.
Madolin will be remembered for her unwavering support and love as a mother, her faithfulness as a wife, and the joy she took in being a grandparent. Of course, this is in addition to her liberal politics, and child-like love of sweets. A voracious reader, she was so grateful for the Bedford Hills Public Library and their home delivery of hundreds of books over the last few years. She remained a life-long Democrat, and as her age advanced, so did her world views. She accepted any and all, without judgment.
Madolin is survived by her children Linda Davies (Mt. Kisco), Richard Davies (Bedford), Philip Davies (Bedford), Denise Davies Tedaldi (Danvers, MA), Stephen Davies (Garnerville, NY), and her grandchildren Samantha Tedaldi (New York, NY), and Sean Davies (Garnerville, NY). She was preceded by her husband William Daniel Davies, and her granddaughter Traci Elizabeth Tedaldi.
A private burial will be at the Bedford Union Cemetery on Wednesday June 13th. All are invited to a celebration of her life to be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Katonah, on Sat., June 16th.
Delaney, George T. 84, of Bedford Hills, NY, died suddenly on February 22, 2012. A resident of the Town of Bedford since 1972, he was born and raised in Pittsfield, MA. He moved to New York City as a young man to see the world, and worked in the Merchant Marine as a purser before continuing his education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he received a B.A. in Political Science, and later at New York University Law School. He was admitted to the bar in New York State in 1958. He married his wife, Carol Delaney (nee Mahoney), in 1962. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
George will be remembered for his strong love of his family, his wide curiosity about the world current events, his commitment to his principles, and, above all, for his integrity. He always held the belief that change for the better was possible, and worked to attain it in any capacity he could. He was active in state and local politics for decades, most recently as past Chairman and current active member of the Bedford Democratic Committee. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his 5 children, Danielle (John) Meehan, of Suffern, NY, Suzanne McCarthy, of West Palm Beach, FL, Shelagh (Paul) Thomas, of Clarence, NY, Kimberly (Chris) Johnson, of Greenwich, CT, Thomas (Amy) Delaney, of Portland, OR, and his 9 beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by seven of his siblings, Robert Delaney, Eileen Harrington, James Delaney, Fr. Thomas Delaney, John Delaney, Carol McCaffrey, and Leo Delaney. He was predeceased by two sisters, Loretta Nixon, and June Hoerle.

DePaul, Antoinette (nee LaManna) 100 years, died June 11, 2012 while residing in Cross River, NY, formerly of Edgewater, Florida. Mrs. DePaul was born January 16, 1912 in Tuckahoe, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Rocco DePaul on August 31, 1996.
Antoinette is survived by two daughters: MaryAnn (George) Eggleston and Susan (Robert) Hacker; a granddaughter, Lenore (Robert) Eggleston-Herbst; a great grandson; a sister, Carmela Visconti and many nieces and nephews.
Antoinette’s world centered around her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, baking and sewing. More recently, she cherished her time with her great grandson, Cole Stephen.

Carmel J. DeSantis, age 87, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Somers Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. DeSantis was born April 7, 1925 in Yonkers, NY. She is the daughter of the late William and the late Mary (Tocco) Molinaro. Carmel was predeceased by her husband, Paul DeSantis in 1974, her son, Paul DeSantis in 2000 and her brother, Anthony Molinaro in 2011.

Courtney, Thomas J. age 92, formerly of Chatham NJ, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in White Plains. Mr. Courtney was born August 16, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas S. and the late Florence (Tweedy) Courtney.
Thomas was a longtime active member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Chatham. He graduated from St. Johns University after which he served in the Army Air Corps. He was employed for many years by Crum & Foster Insurance Co, Morristown, NJ.

Doherty, Eugene R. “Gene”, Sr, 73.
Gene Doherty passed away peacefully at home on June 8th in Purdy’s, NY.
The son of the late James and Helen Krueger Doherty, Gene was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. He was also predeceased by his older brother Jim.
Gene worked for The Reader’s Digest Association for 25 years and was the long time personal chauffeur to founders DeWitt and Lila Wallace living on their estate, High Winds in Bedford, NY with his family. He became an unofficial historian of the company and its founders. He was often interviewed for written and video documentaries and tributes. In 1996 he contributed to “AMERICAN DREAMERS: The Wallaces and The Reader’s Digest: An Insider’s Story”, written by former RD editor Peter Canning. In 2010 he contributed to an exhibit at the New Castle Historical Society and video hosted by Ben Cheever on Pleasantville Community TV on RD and it’s founders.
Gene was a fan of many sports but his true loves were his NY Giants, Yankees, and The Masters and US Open Golf tournaments.
Gene married the former Ilse E. Ruetter of The Bronx in 1958. In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by three children and their spouses; Barbara and John Vail of Croton-on Hudson NY, Janet and Philip Gottlieb of LaGrangeville NY, and Eugene Doherty Jr and wife Dorothy of Purdy’s, one sister Carol Giotopoulos of Florida, one sister in law Lore Edwards of San Mateo CA, six grandchildren; Brian, Kimberly, and Kevin Vail; Alexander and Megan Gottlieb, and Christopher Doherty, and many nieces and nephews.

DWYER, VIRGINIA EPES – Virginia E. Dwyer, formerly of Somers, NY and Chappaqua, NY, died March 22, 2012, in Port Townsend, WA. She was 83 years old. She is survived by her brother, Travis Epes of Riverdale, NY, and her five children, William Dwyer III of Port Townsend, WA, Moira Dwyer Grainger of Cincinnati, OH, Michael Dwyer of New Castle, CO, Alice Dwyer of Jewett, NY, and Patrick Dwyer of Stamford, CT, as well as 63 nephews and nieces, grandsons, granddaughters, grandnephews and grandnieces, great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter. She is predeceased by her husband, William J. Dwyer, Jr. of Somers, NY, her sisters, Jacqueline Walsh of Somers, NY and Sarasota, FL, Mary Epes of Somers, NY and her brother, William Epes of Coatesville, PA.
Born September 29, 1928, in New York City, she was the daughter of William Robinson Epes and Alice Regina Madigan Epes of Hartsdale, NY. She attended College of New Rochelle, later transferring to College of Mount Saint Vincent, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts. After graduating, she was employed as an art teacher, commercial artist and later worked for her father in his patent office. She was married to William J. Dwyer, Jr. on April 7, 1951 and served as his devoted spouse, business partner and caretaker for 51 years, working as office manager of William J. Dwyer & Company, a commercial real estate business with offices on Madison Avenue, New York City. Mrs. Dwyer was also a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of New York and worked in residential real estate in Chappaqua, New York.
Foremost in her life and ahead of her professional achievements were Mrs. Dwyer’s unrelenting love and commitment to her husband and five children who were the center of her world. She was passionate about art, history, and current events, as well as being a skilled seamstress, carpenter and craftswoman during her life. Her intense interest in literature and genealogy led her to travels in Europe with her sisters Mary Epes and Jacqueline Walsh, where they discovered their earliest proved ancestor Allan Epes, who left a will in Kent, England, dated June 5, 1471.

Feeley, Eugene T. age 69, died at home on Saturday, October 6, 2012 with his family, friends and loved ones by his side. Born on Sept 13, 1943 to Eugene and Margaret (Sullivan) Feeley, Gene spent his early years in the Vinegar Hill neighborhood of Harlem and he maintained strong ties to his friends and the neighborhood. He and his wife, Linda (Hudsick) Feeley, built a successful automotive business in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess. Gene settled in Pound Ridge in 1985, where he enjoyed caring for and improving his home, a place where he and Linda welcomed family, friends and colleagues. Gene is survived by his wife Linda, son Daniel, daughter-in-law Bettie Ann and grandchildren David, Sarah and Kaitlyn. Gene also leaves behind his brother, Michael and sister, Margaret Telepan.

Ganser, Irene, M.,83 of Somers, NY, formerly of Valhalla, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct 26, 2012. Irene was born in Siegsdorf, Germany to the late Peter and Theresa Mader. She was the beloved wife of the late Stefan Ganser. Irene taught and nurtured 3 year olds for 37 years at The Home School in White Plains, NY. After her retirement, she continued to work at Camp Mohawk until her 80th birthday.

Giordano, Anthony Robert Esq., 72, of North Salem, NY died peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2012. Bob is survived by his loving wife Patricia, daughter Jeanine Mackay and son-in-law Michael Mackay and granddaughter, Rachel of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY; son Robert Giordano and daughter-in-law Gail Giordano of West Virginia; Sister Virginia Giordano of Danbury, CT; brother Dr. Richard Giordano and wife Linda Melin of Mt. Bob was a graduate of Fordham University and Fordham School of Law where he was editor in chief of the Law Review. He practiced law in White Plains, NY. He was a member of the Magistrates Association of NY, town judge in North Salem and also served as councilman. He was a member of the board of directors of the Arthritis Foundation in Westchester. He also served as New York State tax attorney for Westchester County. He was a long standing member of the Planned Gift Committee, Archdiocese of NY.
Bob was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls, NY and a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1970. He also led the band “The Melody Troubadours” where he played the accordion and xylophone. He was avid Yankee and New York Rangers fan, loved gourmet cooking and traveling.

Mary was well known for her walking throughout the town of Katonah. She was the secretary for the Bedford Historical Society and an avid quilter and Member of the Nutmeg Quilting Society of Ridgefield, CT.

Pound Ridge resident Deborah Healy-Seidlitz died on Friday, October 19. She was born on July 31, 1963, in Monmouth, N.J., to Donald Healy and Rhonda Lederman. Deborah always showed kindness and concern for others. For the past 20 years, she worked as a licensed massage therapist. She recently returned to school, attending Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service. Earlier this year, she graduated and received her LMSW and was very excited about her new career. Deborah will be remembered as loving, caring, nurturing, and generous. She was a true inspiration to all. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved unconditionally. She appreciated nature and all its beauty. She excelled at gardening, cooking, art, and interior decorating. Deborah was very involved in local charity work and was always helping others. She once described herself as a “perpetual student of life.” Deborah was also a true animal lover and leaves behind her treasured pets Remy and Finian. Deborah is survived by her beloved family: husband, Richard Seidlitz, daughter, Hannah Seidlitz, son, Andrew Seidlitz, of Pound Ridge, parents, Donald Healy, of North Salem, and Rhonda Lederman, of Pompano Beach, Florida, and sisters, Karen Haber, of Yorktown Heights, and Melissa Alpern, of Golden’s Bridge. She is also survived by her extended family and large community of friends. Everyone who knew Deborah will miss her more than can be imagined. Henry, Bernice M. 76, of Somers, NY, formerly of Yonkers, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She was born in Yonkers on November 3, 1935 to the late Robert John Paulson and Bernice LaSota; she was pre-deceased by her brother Robert, who died in the Korean War. A graduate of St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in New York, Bernice worked at St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY and later at Andrus Nursing Home in Hastings, NY. On September 29, 1956, she married Edward R. Henry.
Bernice is survived by her beloved husband, Edward, and their five sons: Edward Jr. of Katonah, NY, Robert of Mahopac, NY, Kevin of Carmel, NY, David of Bangor, PA, and Brian of Briarcliff Manor, NY. She is also survived by four daughters-in-law: Carthy, Deborah, Kathy, and Despina, as well as 10 cherished grandchildren: Tara, James, Krista, Carter, Elizabeth, Robert, Carra, Ceyla, Nicholas, and Christiana. Bernice loved knitting and bowling. She will be remembered with deep love for her thoughtfulness, kindness, and warmth.

Kaminski, Michael J. age 80, formerly of the Bronx, NY and a recent resident of Somers, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at New York State Veterans Home of Montrose, NY. Mr. Kaminski was born April 21, 1932 in Queens, NY. He is the son of the late Jonas and the late Mary (Stalmoka) Kaminskas.
Michael served in the Navy during the Korean War. After the Navy, Michael became a Pastry Chef at the Plaza Hotel in NYC.
He married Rita Sweeney in 1959 in Bronx, NY. Together they had four children: Rita, Linda, Tina and Joseph. He retired in 1997 from P.S. 40 Bronx, NY after 27 years of service.
Michael is survived by his wife of 53 years: Margaret(Sweeney) Kaminski; three daughters: Rita (Michael) Rogers, Linda (Anthony) Prezioso, Tina Dramen; and one son: Joseph (Susan Murray) Kaminski

Ketting, Conny (née Jacoba Cornelia Petronella Helena Van Rossen) passed away on November 30 at the age of 87, from complications of a stroke in May. Mrs. Ketting was born September 16, 1925 in Surabaya in the Netherlands East Indies (present day Indonesia). Her father, Cornelis Van Rossen, was a governor of different provinces on the island of Java. Her idyllic childhood in Indonesia was brought to an abrupt end with the outbreak of World War II. She survived three and a half years in five different Japanese concentration camps, suffering malnutrition and inhumane treatment at the hands of her captors.
In 1946, Conny left with her parents for the Netherlands. She obtained her teachers degree in the Hague. She came to the United States in 1949 to continue her studies at Teachers College, Columbia University. In 1950, she married Jaap Ketting, who predeceased her in April of this year. Shortly after getting married, they moved to their home in Bedford Hills where they remained for 62 years.
Conny was a past member of the Bedford Hills Woman’s Club. She loved nature and the outdoors. She proudly maintained a large collection of well-stocked bird feeders in her yard.
Conny is survived by her son, Jaap Jan, of Princeton, New Jersey and her daughter-in-law Regina, two grandchildren, Juliana and Conrad as well as her sister-in-law Cornelia aan de Wiel of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 15th from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, New York. A private cremation was held.

Libertucci, Mary Stella (Catalano) 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday Dec. 13, 2012 at the UConn Medical Center in Farmington, Connecticut. Mary had been a resident of Farmington for only a short time after moving there earlier in the year.
Mary was born Dec. 5, 1925 at Women’s Hospital in Manhattan, New York City. She was the youngest of the five children of Anna and Joseph Catalano, who had immigrated from Palermo, Sicily with their three teenage children. Two and a half years later, Joseph died and Anna, who was only in her thirties at that time, was left to raise five children, including Mary, by herself. Anna worked nine to ten hour days in the garment industry, leaving Mary and her sister with Anna’s mother who lived with the family in an apartment in the Bronx. As part of Mary’s chores as a young child she kept the apartment clean and neat, a trait she brought along for her entire life. She even managed to have success passing along that trait to one of her children, who has ultimately surpassed Mary’s desire for neatness
While still in high school, Mary worked at Dell Publications and always remembered the day when the well known actor Robert Mitchum visited Dell and gave her a handwritten note. She continued to work there even after she married Paul Libertucci, at age 20. They had dated on and off over several years but then he went off to join the army during WW II. He returned in 1945 and they married the following year. They lived in a small apartment in Mt. Vernon, NY before moving back to an apartment in the Bronx, then to a larger house in the Bronx where they stayed for many years. In 1949, the first of their children, Paula, was born, followed by her brothers Douglas and Steven. Mary started working outside her home in 1962, first at Jackson China and then at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. At age 45, she retired and returned to full time duties as a homemaker, care giver and loving steward of her extended family.
In 1992 she and her husband Paul moved to Somers, NY where they spent many years enjoying strong friendships with their neighbors in Heritage Hills. After her husband died she remained in Heritage Hills for several years, then moved to Farmington to be close to her daughter, Paula.
Mary is survived by her three devoted children: Paula Stanland of Farmington, CT and her husband Jack, Douglas Libertucci of Yonkers, NY and his wife Janice and Steven Libertucci of New Providence, NJ and his wife Gail. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Rosemary Farmer and her husband Brendan, Danielle Ciciola and her husband Joseph, Lori Perillo and her husband Joseph, Lisa Libertucci and her fiancé Bryan and Stephanie Libertucci. She further leaves her beloved great grandchildren Riley Farmer, Brian Farmer, Joseph Perillo and Matthew Perillo.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul as well as by her brothers Nat and Peter and her sisters: Lilly and Grace. She was also predeceased by her adored, smart and sometimes difficult Pomeranian Nala.
Mary was the consummate homemaker and care giver – generous, loving, devoted and tireless in her efforts to provide for her family and others who were close to her. Her happiest moments were when she was cooking for a large table of her family and friends, especially every Sunday afternoon. And those who shared that table always enjoyed a delicious meal, often one of the Italian favorites that were her specialty. Among her many gifts was the ability to bring genuine happiness to others. She was easy to talk to, witty and conversant on many topics. She also maintained a strong interest in politics, her favorite TV programs, biographies, The Bronx and NYC, reading, nature and the animal world as exemplified by her undying love of dogs. She was a selfless person who shared the joys and sorrows of others, viewing their good fortunes with genuine happiness for them and never with envy. There has never been a more involved, concerned and compassionate person and we who have been in her family have been blessed with unbounded good fortune for the many years we have shared with her.
Mary’s family would like to thank all those who have cared for her during her last illness, including the wonderful doctors and nurses at the UConn Medical Center, as well as the other caregivers who visited with her regularly. Special thanks are also extended to those at Somers Medical Group, Somers, NY who provided friendship and compassionate care to Mary for many years.

Martin, Robert F. of Somers, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 23, 2012. He was 81 years old. The son of Francis Martin and Mary Coonan, and brother of James Martin (also deceased), Bob grew up in the Bronx and attended Dewitt Clinton HS. He honorably served his country for five years in the Army Infantry. Bob earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Iona College, after which he led a distinguished 35-year career as an English teacher within the Yonkers NY public school system. After retiring and until his passing, Bob continued substitute teaching and ESL tutoring. In recent years, Bob was a proud volunteer at Putnam Medical Center. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ursula, their two children Robert C. and Lynda, and four grandchildren Andrea, Robert “Paddy”, Fiona, and Eleri. Lawrence Mele, (aka Dewey & Larry) age 58 of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Eastchester & Yonkers, N.Y. passed away on Sunday , September 16, 2012 after a very courageous battle with Lymphoma. He was born on Dec. 16, 1953, to Valerie and Vito Mele. He was a devoted and very beloved, son, father and brother. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, quick laughter, and intelligence. He loved the outdoors, enjoying both hiking, and camping. He lived in many places, California, New Hampshire, New York and most recently Colorado for the last 6 years. There he was a counselor and helped many people with his great understanding and insight. When he held his group meetings there would be an overflow because he was such a help and inspiration to so many people.
He was a proprietor for many years of Commodore Shoe Repair on 47th and 3rd Ave in Manhattan.
He was predeceased by his mother Valerie (Leighton), and a sister Marie Brancato.

Madsen, Carl F. 83, a resident of South Salem for over 50 years, died peacefully Saturday, September 30th. A Korean War veteran, Carl worked as a self-employed carpenter and held positions briefly at Weir Farm, Harvey School and the New Canaan Nature Center. Carl loved being outdoors, fishing, hiking and gardening. Monica, Philomena 83, of Somers and Southold, NY, was called home by our Lord on July 20, 2012, at Calvary Hospital, surrounded by her family, following a long courageous battle with cancer. Philomena was born in the Bronx in 1928 and was married to her loving husband James “Jim” Monica for 52 years. Philomena and Jim married in 1960 and resided in Yonkers, where they raised five beautiful children. Philomena enjoyed baking delicious cookies for any occasion and was known for feeding a crowd within seconds. She enjoyed entertaining and welcoming all that were close to her at either home. She also was an avid bowler for over 40 years. Sharing a love of the water and the beach, Philomena and Jim vacationed at their home in Southold, NY with their children, extended family and friends every summer since 1960. Philomena was a wonderful “Mom” and adored “Grandma,” who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Throughout her life, Philomena’s family, friends and almost anyone she met have been inspired by her strength, warmth and generosity. She was the family matriarch who always insisted on celebrating holidays together as a family and especially loved Christmas Eve dinners which no one ever missed. Moy, Florence Lee of New York New York, passed away at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Ossining, New York on October 11, 2012. She was 94.
Florence Moy was an administrator at Beatrice Foods, in Brooklyn, New York, and previously served in a similar capacity at Bank of China in New York City. During World War II, she served as a civilian employee in the US Army, serving in field offices in China.
Born in 1918 in New York, New York, she survived her husband, Kan Shing Moy, who died in 1991. Florence is survived by her sisters, Anna Awana and Clara Cheung; by her son, Nick Moy of Katonah and by her grandchildren, Carla and Deirdre Moy.

Murphy, Anne Marie 52, a 14 year resident of Sandy Hook, CT formerly of Katonah, NY died Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Sandy Hook School Tragedy.
She was born July 25, 1960 in Mount Kisco, NY, the daughter of Dr. Hugh and Alice McGowan of Katonah and graduated from St. Mary’s School in Katonah, John F. Kennedy H.S. in Somers, NY and Southern CT State University with an MS degree in Education.
Anne was employed by the Newtown Board of Education as a Teacher at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.
She will be remembered for her love of the Arts, walks in the outdoors and most importantly: her family.

Pauline O’Connor, 88, long time resident of Bedford Hills, passed away on January 26, 2012 at Waterview Hills. She and her twin sister, Betty were born in Elgin, Scotland, December 29, 1923 to Paul and Ann MacDonald. The family immigrated through Canada into the United States settling in Katonah, New York where she grew up. Pauline became a registered nurse after attending the University of Michigan and worked in Northern Westchester Hospital. She married Eugene “Gene” O’Connor after his return from WWII and had three children; Thomas, Barbara and Joan. She is preceded in death by “Gene”, her husband; Barbara, her daughter; and “Betty”, her twin sister. Vernon, while she raised her young family and later Anita retired from PepsiCo in Somers, NY after 15 years working in the Legal, Public Relations and Consumer Affairs Department. Anita grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School. She married Michael Pancotto in 1953 and moved to Mt. Vernon, NY where she began raising their two children John Raymond and Christine. In Mt. Vernon Anita was active in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was a leader and a member of the Little Flower Altar Society. The family then moved to Irvington, NY where she raised her family and began working for Pepsi in both the Purchase and later the Somers location. After the passing of her beloved husband Michael, Anita moved to Somers and joined the Heritage Hills Community.
Anita was an active member of the Heritage Hills Community. She participated in many organizations and clubs; she served as recording Secretary of Condo Board 16 and served as the cluster captain and was the event planner for the Ciao Italia Club, she also enjoyed bowling and bocce and trips to the casinos with her friends at Heritage Hills. Anita will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and for her kind and compassionate nature and positive outlook and love of life.
Anita was predeceased by her husband Michael and is survived by her children John (Patty) Pancotto and Christine (Gary) Boyd and her grandchildren John and Anthony Pancotto and Megan and Michael Kraiza and James Boyd. She was predeceased by her sister Matilda Kiernan and brother Bruno Spidalieri.

Mr. Michael Pawlowski, 29, of New York City and South Salem, NY passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at his home in Manhattan.
The son of Elaine and David Pawlowski of South Salem, New York and Charleston, SC, Michael is survived by his brothers, David A. Pawlowski of Danbury, CT and Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Pawlowski of Mt. Kisco, NY, and grandmothers, Jean D. Pawlowski of Waterbury, CT and Kerttu Pietilainen Horvat of Portland, ME.
Michael was born on August 4, 1982 in Torrington, CT. He was a graduate of The New Canaan Country School, New Canaan, CT, The Gunnery, Washington, CT, received dual degrees in Finance and French from Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, IL, and was a Masters Candidate as Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY.
Starting as an intern at Societe Generale in New York City, Michael’s most recent position was as an Exotic Equity Trader’s Assistant in the company’s investment banking division receiving a special commendation from the Chief Operating Officer for special project management.
Michael was an avid New York sports fan and played hockey from childhood through his college years. He loved to travel to Europe and the Caribbean. Michael enjoyed the arts, especially the theater and the MoMa.
His charm, wit, intelligence and warmth will be missed by all those he touched.

Perrotta, Anthony “Tony” 72, of Brewster, NY formerly of The Bronx died on Tuesday, October 30.
Tony was a salesman most of his life, most recently for Ace Endico. He was a devoted fan of the NY Yankees.

Phelps, Louise age 93, a lifelong resident of Bedford Hills, died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Sky View Health Care Center of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Mrs. Phelps was born November 18, 1918 in Bedford Hills, NY, Mrs. Phelps is the daughter of the late Anton Alfred Fiedler and Madeline Heiskanin. Louise was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years and a member of the Taconic Hills Kennel Club. She showed collies for four decades with her daughter, Karen.

Phillips, Marjorie Wright, 88, of Katonah, NY, died on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Franciscan Oaks in Denville, NJ. Marjorie was born on April 2, 1924, at Northern Westchester Hospital to the late Harry Clement Wright and Lucy Susanna Reeves Wright. Marjorie grew up in Chappaqua and graduated from Horace Greeley High School. She was the executive secretary to DeWitt Wallace, founder of the Reader’s Digest, and his wife, Lila Acheson Wallace. She retired from a career the Reader’s Digest and continued to work part-time; including office support at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Christy Campbell of Denville, NJ and son Roger Phillips of Port Hudson, LA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Honorable Kevin J. Quaranta, 56, of Bedford, New York, died on July 27, 2012 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Judith Peterson; loving father of Christina, Kevin and William; dear brother of Mary Beth Morrissey and son of the late Dr. Mary Ann Quaranta and Dr. John V. Quaranta.
The Honorable Quaranta was the Town Justice of Bedford beginning in 2004.
He served as Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx earlier in his career and was a member of the Judge Advocate General of the US Armed Forces. He was an alumnus of Fordham Law School (1981), Fordham College (1978) and Fordham Preparatory School (1974).
The Honorable Quaranta served as past president of the Bronx Bar Association, board member of the Catholic Big Brothers, and board member of the Westchester Fordham Law School Alumni Association. He was also past president and zone chair of the Lions Club and a Bedford-Pound Ridge Little League baseball coach and St. Patrick’s CYO basketball coach.

Rice, Blanche a long time resident of Somers, NY, died on Wednesday morning June 6th, 2012 at Northern Westchester Hospital after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder.
Blanche was born in the Bronx, NY on April 30th, 1922 to Lester and Lillian Barnes. She was one of eight children; Lester, Julie, Evelyn, Edward, Joan, Grace, and Matthew, all of whom predeceased her. Blanche married Frank Rice on February 14th, 1942 at Saint Athanasius Church in the Bronx.
The beloved mother of Edward Rice (who predeceased her), Robert Rice (Chris) his two sons Matthew and Michael; Cathleen McCarthy (John) their two sons Kevin and Michael; Frankie and his son Frankie; and Marianne Kealy (Mike) and their two sons Michael and Edward. She will be sorely missed by them as a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Her spirit and love for life added joy to all those around her.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — Robert “Bob” Rubinstein, 75, Middlebury resident and, previously, long-time resident of Katonah, NY, died at home on February 3, 2012 with his wife by his side after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born in New York, New York on December 18, 1936, the son of the late Herman and Fanny (Trachtenberg) Rubinstein. Before his retirement Bob was the self-employed owner of Karl’s Garage & Motor Service, Inc. in Riverdale, New York. Prior to this he worked for Lotus East in Manhattan. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.
After briefly attending City College of New York and completing his service in Korea, Robert worked for Johns Manville before deciding to create his career around what he loved most: the automobile. His talents in this field were broad: an expert at complex repairs, including exotic cars, automotive sales and test-driving special models.
He gained some fame in the regional amateur racing circuit when, throughout the Sixties and the early Seventies he won dozens of trophies and awards for slalom or obstacle course driving his beloved white Jaguar at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT
Bob was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Jaguar Club. Especially, he was known to his friends and family for his jovial nature and penchant for humor of all kinds.
Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Constance Burak Rubinstein; his sons, Gary and Jay, both of Hoboken, NJ; his step-daughter, Johanna Bates, her husband, Colin Mitchell and their son, Emlyn Mitchell-Bates of Montague, Mass.
He also leaves a sister, Helene Rubinstein Bergman of Manhattan, and a brother, deceased, Joel Rubinstein. He will also be missed by his niece, Meredith Bergman Apicella, her husband David Apicella and their son, Ben, of Stamford, CT; also his nephew, David Bergman of Manhattan. His previous marriage to Joan Hoffman Rubinstein-Payne ended in divorce.

Rubsam, Joseph L. 86, of Somers, NY, died peacefully on Friday December 28, 2012 with his family at his side.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 31, 1926, the son of John and Anna (Siebert) Rubsam. He is survived by his wife Catharine (Heydner) Rubsam with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter Kathleen Muleski and her husband Robert, and his son Joseph Rubsam and his wife Catherine. His son Robert Rubsam pre-deceased him in 1986. Also surviving are loving grandchildren Meaghan, Robert, and Siobhan Rubsam, and his brother John Rubsam and sister-in-law Mary Ann.
Joe was raised in Ridgewood, Queens and lived for over 40 years in Glendale. He graduated from Yale University in 1947 and served in the Naval Reserve. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 41 years and retired as Vice President and Actuary in 1988. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of St. Joseph’s Church of Croton Falls, NY. Joe enjoyed travel, gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.

Irwin Walter, age 75, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at home in South Salem. Mr. Walter was born January 16, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Hyman and the late Bessie (Adler) Walter.
Irwin served in the Air Force. He graduated Queens College. He was employed by Litton Industries located in Mt. Vernon, NY for 28 years. Then he went to work for The Hessel Group, in Wilton, CT as their Director of Tax Administration. Recently, Irwin enjoyed working as a manager at the Ridge Club in Vista, NY.
Irwin is survived by his wife: Beth (Siple) Walter; his son, Michael Walter; his stepson David (Kim) Oltman; stepdaughter, Leigh Ann (Tom) Arthur and three grandchildren, Scott, Kelsie and Alan Oltman

Weingart, William (Bill) M. 74, of Katonah, NY passed away, June 3, 2012 after a long illness at Hudson Valley Hospital. Bill was born December 30, 1937 in New Rochelle, NY to William and Alma Weingart. He graduated from New Rochelle High School then went on to the Goodman Theater School in Chicago, Ill.
He was a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employee and worked throughout Westchester and New York City.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Louisa ( Pickett) and their children: Carrie Calabrese, William B. Weingart and John Weingart. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Williams, Richard Taylor Sr. of Bedford, NY passed away Monday April 9, 2012. Mr. Williams was born the son of Edwin Taylor and Arline Little Williams in Orange, New Jersey, January 31, 1931. He attended the Pennington School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Thereafter, until retirement in 2000, he worked at Williams Automatic, heating and air conditioning, in Tuckahoe, NY, serving for three decades as its president. He also served on the board of American Republic Insurance. He married Julianne Lay on November 24, 1956, who survives him, along with their children, Richard Taylor Williams, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, Sheryl Lynn Williams of Copake, NY, David Lay Williams of Chicago, IL and foster-daughter, Julie Micone, as well as three grandsons, Paul, Matthew, and Benjamin Williams. He will be remembered for his exceptionally good nature and generous spirit. Services will be held at Bedford Presbyterian Church at 4:00 on Thursday April 12, 2012. She was a Telephone Operator for AT&T in Mt. Kisco, NY for 40 years.
