Mrs. Albano was born in Ebensburg, PA, the daughter of the late Edwin and the late Gertrude Huber. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore Albano, on Feb. 7, 2010. Albano, Salvatore ”Ted” age 79, of South Salem died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center of Mount Kisco, NY. Mr. Albano was born January 18, 1931 in Yonkers, NY the son of the late Alfredo and Lina Albano. He was a 2nd generation owner of the Albano Electric Corporation located in Pound Ridge, NY where he worked for 40 years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Askew, Doris L. 77, of Shenorock, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Bethel Nursing Home & Hospice of Ossining, NY. Mrs. Askew was born June 2, 1932 in Somers, NY. She is the daughter of the late Charles and the late Anna C. (Towey) Bassett. She was pre-deceased in May 2008 by her husband, Leon E. Askew, Sr.
She is survived by two sons: Leon E. Askew, Jr. and his wife, Jo-Ellen of Katonah, NY and John Askew; and his wife, Nancy of Granite Springs, NY. Dear grandmother of Leon III, John Jr., Amanda, Jeremy and Andrew.

Astrologo, Dorothy M. 77, a longtime resident of Bedford Hills died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla. She was born October 15, 1932 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Marie (nee Armentano) Bondi. Dorothy was a graduate of The Academy of Our Lady of Good Council in White Plains, NY and the Washington School for Secretaries in NYC. She was a secretary with the Bedford Central School District, Bedford, NY for 26 years retiring in 1995 and also worked for the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in White Plains.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Joseph A. Astrologo , and she is the loving mother of Marie Astrologo of Cayce, SC, Joseph A. Astrologo, Jr of Red Wing, MN and Teresa Astrologo of Bedford Hills, NY and she the devoted grandmother of Anthony and Allison Astrologo. Blankenship,Harry L. age 94, a longtime resident of Pound Ridge died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Waterview Hills Nursing Home of Purdys, NY.

Burpee, Jeannette 84 of Ardsley (White Plains), NY died on Oct. 21 at White Plains Hospital.

She was born on March 2nd, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Jeannette Heyer.

Jeannette graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, Queens, and State University New Paltz, in 1950 with a degree in Elementary Education. She also attended Bank Street School of Education and received an Early Childhood Education License.

She was a 4th grade teacher at Massapequa N.Y. Public School for two years and was the Director of Gramercy Park Nursery School, N. Y.C. for 31 years.
After retiring, she obtained her real estate license.

On June 16th, 1950 she married Robert N. Burpee and they resided in the Ardsley area since 1956 and following retirement they lived in Fort Meyers Beach FL. during the winter.

Jeannette loved spending time with family and friends as well as her many favorite pastimes which included swimming, bike riding, camping, cooking and baking and traveling cross-country in a recreational vehicle.

She was an avid NY Yankee fan and was an active member of the Ardsley United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Her favorite places to visit included Walt Disney World, Florida, Rhode Island, Lake George, NY and The Presbyterian Camp in Holmes, NY.

Jeannette is survived by her beloved husband Robert N. Burpee, and her three loving children, David and his wife Linda, Nancy Wulkan and her husband Douglas and Janis Pizzolato and her fiancé Tommy Collins, her brother Richard Heyer and his wife, Mae and her sister-in-law Theresa Heyer.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Burpee and his wife Lacy, Sarah and Kendra Burpee , Rebecca Casseday and her husband Lee , Andrew Wulkan, Victor, Robert and Nicholas Pizzolato, all of whom she adored.

She is also survived by her former son-in-law, Victor Pizzolato.

She is the Aunt of John Heyer and his wife, Charlette and several other nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and her two brothers, John and Billy.

Crispinelli, Stephanie Lin died on January 12th while on a humanitarian mission in Haiti. She was in Haiti with friends and faculty from Lynn University on a “Journey of Hope” with Food for the Poor. Stephanie was 19 years old and graduated in 2008 from Somers High School. She was currently a sophomore at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida studying Human Services. Stephanie is survived by her loving parents Lin and Lenny Crispinelli, her two brothers Michael and Nicholas, as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many, many dear friends. Cray, Eileen A. a resident of Somers, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010. She was 78. Eileen was born on April 30, 1932 in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Peter and Margaret Donohue. She married Robert E. Cray (also of the Bronx) in 1953. He predeceased her in 1998. After raising her children, Eileen went to college, earned an associate degree and rejoined the work force by working as an administrative assistant in the medical office. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, bridge, swimming and the company of her husband, children and grandchildren. Eileen was a devoted and cherished wife, mother and “Nana”. She is already missed. Eileen is survived by a son, Robert E. Cray, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Berkeley Heights, NJ and their child, Pamela; a son, Brian E. Cudlip, Nancy Clapp of Somers, New York, died at home on July 16, 2010. She was 76 years old. Nancy was born and raised in Manhasset, New York by her loving parents Helen and Jeffrey Clapp. She graduated from Manhasset High School in 1951 and Sweet Briar College in Virginia in 1955, where she pursued her passion for English literature and riding.
Upon graduating from college, she moved to Port Washington, New York and started her family. In 1962, she relocated to Grosse Pointe, Michigan and raised her children for nearly 20 years. Active in the community, she was a dedicated member of The Junior League of Detroit and the Garden Club of America. In 1980, she moved to Tequesta, Florida and earned her C.P.A. degree. For the past 25 years, she has lived in the Waccacbuc/Somers, New York area, building her business as a Certified Public Accountant working for small businesses and individuals. Nancy had a tremendous love of the outdoors, pursued primarily through fly fishing and gardening. An accomplished angler, she was an enthusiastic member of the Woman Flyfishers Club in the Catskills. Her many other passions included classical music, politics, travel and her new found love of bridge. Nancy’s greatest joys were her family and dear friends. She will always be remembered, admired and most of all loved for her positive attitude, humor, loyalty, strength and independence. She is survived by her loving daughter Anne Finnegan and her husband Bill, of Rye, New York; son Bill Cudlip and his wife Jo, of Richmond, Virginia; brother Jeffrey Clapp and his family of New York City; and her grandchildren, Christopher, Carly and Audrey Finnegan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 24th at 10:30am, St. Matthew’s Church in Bedford, New York. Del Sindaco, Denise M. 61, of Bedford, NY died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Hospice at Bethel in Ossining, NY. She was born April 13, 1949 in New York, NY. She is the daughter of Eileen M (Lantelme) Brumm and the late Richard Brumm. She received a BSN from Hunter College in 1971 and her RN in 1971 from the Bellevue School of Nursing. Denise is the beloved wife of Joseph M. Del Sindaco; (former Supervisor of the Town of Bedford) and the loving daughter of Eileen M Brumm. Joe and Denise were married on May 27, 1972.
Denise fulfilled her lifelong dream to live in the Town of Bedford when she and Joe moved to Bedford in 1975. She enjoyed her tenure as a “First Lady of Bedford”.
She was a Critical Care Nurse at Northern Westchester Hospital Center, Mt. Kisco, NY for approximately 20 years. In addition to her love of Bedford, her second favorite place was Cape Cod, MA where she, Joe and their friends and family spent many vacations. Desperito, Ernest T. age 81, of Bedford, NY passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY. Ernie was born on April 23, 1929 in Yonkers, NY. He was the son of the late Joseph Desperito and Adeline Mongarella Desperito.
Ernie was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and one of their star athletes. He attended St. Micheals College and Fordham University, where he played both football and baseball. He was drafted out of college by the Philadelphia Phillies and played on their AAA farm team for six years. He began his business career as a liquor salesman and was employed by various NY suppliers. This led to a successful 20 years as a Restaurateur in Yonkers, NY.
“Bubby” is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paula. He was the proud father and grandfather to Dr. Elise Desperito Braumuller, husband, Robert Braumuller, children, Shea, Jack, Kate, and Brian; Amy Desperito Fuentes, husband, Luis Fuentes, children, Jessica, Nicolas and Marco; Amanda Desperito; Dr. Thomas Desperito, wife, Dr. Molly McBride, children, Luke, Tucker and Phoebe; and Ann Desperito.

Donaldson, Douglas F. age 95, of Bedford died at home Monday, August 9, 2010. Mr. Donaldson was born July 29, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late John Rose and the late Clara Lois (Cole) Donaldson. He served in the Army during World War II. He was employed by New York Life Insurance Co. as Vice President Data Operations and retired after over 40 years of service.

Edwards,Clarence Charles 83, of Somers, NY formerly of New Milford, CT , died Monday, May 24, 2010 at Calvary Hospital ,Bronx, NY. He was born in North Adams, MA. Clancy served gallantly in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Clouse. He was a Supervisor for Kimberly-Clark in New Milford, CT. Upon retirement he worked for New Milford High School in school security. Clancy was a life member of the VFW Post #1285 and was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #148 and he enjoyed participating with his friends at the Somers Seniors Center. Clancy is the loving father of Michael Edwards of Tuscon, AZ and Patricia Wymbs and her husband, Todd of Somers, NY. He is the devoted grandfather of Timothy, Justin, Brandon and Brielle Wymbs and the late Rachael C. Edwards. He is also survived by his wife Gloria (Peroni) Edwards. Fay, Laurence T. age 55, of Katonah, died of a brain hemorrhage after a fall on December 13th. A licensed architect, he held degrees from Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture, St. Lawrence University and Byram Hills High School. Throughout high school and college he was an accomplished cross-country and middle-distance runner. His lifelong love for the Adirondack wilderness began with childhood vacations spent in Blue Mountain Lake, New York. Devoted husband to Shiela and loving father to Sara, he is also survived by stepsons Evan and Eric Zelermyer, brother and sister-in-law Steve and Liz Fay, niece Chelsea and nephew Aron, and sister Wendy Starling.

Flood, Louise Muller formerly of Somers, NY. and Jupiter, FL. passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2010 with her loving and devoted daughter Joanie by her side. She was 95. She was born on August 25th, 1915, in New York City to the late Mae and Julian Muller.
Louise married Thomas Francis Flood Jr. on September 1, 1935 at St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls, NY. He predeceased her on Feb. 10th, 2003. Foley, James L. age 68 of Bronx, NY formerly of Yonkers, NY died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. Mr. Foley was born August 2, 1941 in Mineral Wells, TX. He is the son of the late James L. and the late Catherine Foley. He retired as a Sergeant from the New York City Transit Police in 1986 and also served his country in the Marine Corps. He is survived by one son, James R. Foley; his sister, Catherine Nevin; his brother, Edward Foley and many nieces and nephews. Gerkhardt, Albert F. age 83, of Somers, NY formerly of Yonkers, NY died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Putnam Hospital Center. Mr. Gerkhardt was born March 5, 1926 to the late Albert J. and the late Louise (Berenbroick) Gerkhardt. Albert proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre with the Sea Bee’s. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Margaret; and his loving children; Elise and Anthony Carbillano Peter and Christine Gerkhardt, Roger and Marie Gerkhardt, and Alice and Raymond Godziemski. Gresis, Mary of Somers, NY, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Somers Manor Nursing Home. She was 100 years old. Mrs. Gresis, a lifelong homemaker, was born in Hoboken, NJ on July 6, 1910 to Lucy Puglisi Rizzitello and Charles Rizzitello. On February 3, 1929 she married James Gresis, Sr. at Assumption Church in Tuckahoe, NY. They were married for 69 years until his death in 1998, and were longtime residents of Eastchester, NY. Mrs. Gresis will be remembered as a loving matriarch and wonderful cook, for many years hosting their extensive family at the Gresis home in Cape Cod, MA. She also enjoyed knitting and crochet. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Madeline Del Vecchio of Yorktown Heights, NY, Lucille and Phil Capece of Pompano Beach, FL, Sylvia and Andy Venitucci of Boynton Beach, FL, Anne Marie and James Guiffra of Scarsdale, NY, Louis and Louise Gresis of New Rochelle, NY, and James and Pamela Gresis, Jr. of Somers, NY. Harris, Walter L. 85, of Chappaqua, NY died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center of Cortlandt Manor, NY. Mr. Harris was born June 6, 1924 in New York, City. He is the son of William and Cornelia Harris. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and the University of Wisconsin.
Walter was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army as a proud paratrooper with the 82nd airborne. He married Rhoda Gerber in 1949. He was a partner in the Loew Avenue Beef Co., in the West Washington Market since 1960. Walter is survived by his wife, Rhoda, one daughter: Andrea Harris of Chappaqua, NY and one son: Neil Harris of North Bergen, NJ;

Heppner, Marcella R. of Katonah, NY died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Northern Westchester Hospital of Mt Kisco. Mrs. Heppner was born December 7, 1941 in Flushing, NY. She is the daughter of the late Eugene and the late Murial (Johnston) Lopez.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an accomplished gardener, passionate cook and amateur artist. She worked as an Insurance Agent employed by The State Farm Insurance Co. of Katonah, NY

She is survived by her husband: Donald F.Heppner. her four children: Christopher; Catherine (Michael) , Eleanor (Jed) Hershey; and Brian.Her grandchildren: Kate & Isla Heppner and William & Jacob Hershey. A sister Eleanor Lopez. Nieces Molllie Lopez and Claire Heppner.

Marci was raised in Port Washington, NY and graduated from Mary A. Burnham School. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Government from The University of New Hampshire. Marci lived in Katonah for nearly 40 years and was a deeply beloved member of the community.

James, Maureen a long time resident of Katonah died at home on Thursday, December 23, 2010. Mrs. James was born May 18, 1938 in New York City, NY. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Kathleen (Carroll) Meehan. She grew up in Bronxville, graduated from Bronxville High School, Katherine Gibbs School and Purchase College. She was employed by the Pillsbury Company of New York City. In 1960, she married Thomas A. James of Crestwood, NY.

During her many years in Katonah, Mrs. James was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, was a member of the Katonah Women’s Civic Club, a member artist of the Village Galley and the Ridgefield Guild of Artists.

She is survived by her beloved husband: Thomas A. James, two loving sons, Thomas Alan James, Jr. of Woodbury, CT and his wife, Rose, and Richard Davy James of West Chester, PA and his wife, Katherine; and three cherished grandchildren, Avery, Whitney and Will. She is survived by her brother, James Meehan and his wife, Janice of Vero Beach, FL and a brother-in-law William James and his wife, Joy, also of Vero Beach, FL.

Jantz, Charlotte W. (Mustion) , age 89, formerly of Newburgh, NY , passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at St. Johns Riverside Hospital of Yonkers, NY. Mrs. Jantz was born September 6, 1920 in Lexington, NY. She is the daughter of the late Lemuel and the late Susan (Whitehead) DeLong. She was predeceased by husbands’ William N. Mustion and Ernest Jantz; as well as nine brothers and sisters.
She was retired from St. Lukes Hospital, Newburgh, NY as a Cook..She loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and three sons: John (Janet) Mustion of Ramsey, NJ; William ( Jean) Mustion of Stony Brook, NY; Pamela Kerr of Junction City, KS; Richard (Susan) Mustion of San Marcos, CA; and Susan ( Lawrence) Dwyer of Katonah, NY.

An avid gardener after her retirement, she also enjoyed reading with her cats on her lap. Kyle, Susan Pillsbury long-time Rye resident and a former teacher at Rye Country Day School, passed away very peacefully at her daughter’s home in Katonah on September 16, 2010. Born and raised in New Jersey, Mrs. Kyle attended the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College, and got her Master’s Degree from Manhattanville College. She came to Rye and began work at RCDS in 1968, working as a first-grade teacher for thirty years. A passion for education and concern for her students were the hallmarks of her career. Indeed, both parents and students benefitted from her experience, wisdom, and care. She is survived by her daughter, Midge Iorio of Katonah, and her husband, Frank Iorio; her son, Donald Kyle of Danbury, CT, and his wife, Jaclyn Butera; grandchildren Nicholas Kyle, Emily Kyle, Christopher Iorio, and Kyle Iorio; and sisters Mary Loux McDonnell and Joan DeVoe. Leary, Edmund J. 84 , of Somers passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010. Prior to living in Somers,Ed had been a resident of South Salem and Katonah for nearly 50 years. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s in Katonah and St.Francis of Assisi in Manhattan where he attended morning mass during his career.

Ed was married to his devoted and loving wife Noreen for nearly 60 years. Ed was the father of Daniel F. Leary (Ellen), Joseph G. Leary and the late Ann Leary RN. Ed’s pride and joy were his five grandchildren,Daniel,Caroline,Evan,Jillian and Griffin.


Ed was born March 2 1926 to Daniel F. and Jeanette Bolton Leary in Brooklyn NY. Ed graduated from St.Edmunds Grammar School, Brooklyn Prep and attended Fordham University. He subsequently graduated from the State University of New York. Ed was the dear brother of the late Joseph,Frank,Daniel,Bill and Margaret.

On February 3,1951 he married Noreen Nolan Leary in St.Jeromes Church in Brooklyn,NY..Ed went on to serve in the New York City Police Department, retiring as a Detective First Class from the Intelligence Division. Ed went on to serve for 27 years with the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, retiring as Chief Investigator.

He served with the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.

Ed will be remembered by his family and friends for his love of family,sense of humor, sage advice, patience, loyalty and his innate ability to know the right thing to do in every situation in life.

Levy, Suzanne M. age 82, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at home in Somers, NY. Mrs. Levy was born March 28, 1928 in New York, NY. She is the daughter of the late Emil and the late Laura (Yuells) Metzger. She was predeceased by her husband, Gabriel I. Levy in 1975.
Suzanne is survived by two children; Michele (Jason) Valentino and Robert (Marisa Ajdelman) Levy and a grandson, Joshua Gabriel Levy. Also survived by many family and friends.

Marie was a top of her class scholarship student in classical music at New York College of Music. She loved fine arts and studied Interior Design at NYU. She was well liked for her kindness and generosity to others. Lonergan, Katelyn Frances of Somers, NY died on January 10 in Windham, NY. She was born on February 28, 1990 and graduated from Somers High School in 2009 with Presidential Education Awards both from Somers High School and B.O.C.E.S. Technical School where she was also a member of the Honor Society. Katelyn was given the Positive Role Model Award via the Grace Foundation. Merit Awards were presented to her from Congresswoman Sue Kelly and Assemblyman Willis Stephens for her work with teaching art to the disabled. Her passion was teaching children and her dream was to become an animator and to create animation that young and old would adore and cherish for years to come. Katelyn did face painting for many years and she loved to work with children. Her only wish was for people to be happy especially her little sister, (Precious) Kayla Lonergan. Mankowski, Marian Margaret of Somers, NY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 5, 2010. She was 66 years old. Marian was born on November 9, 1944 in New York City to Edward and Winona Quinn. Marian was a resident of Somers for 32 years and a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Croton Falls. She worked as an executive at AT&T for over 30 years and retired in 2009. Marcella, Violet Irene age 85, of Somers, passed away Monday, December 13, at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco, NY. She was born February 6, 1925 in the Bronx. She was the daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Kovac) Borbely.

A beloved wife and devoted mother, Violet was active in many local charities including: Somers Historical Society, Somers Garden Club and Somers Library Thrift Shop. She enjoyed gardening, drawing and antique collecting.

Liesel was previously employed by Curtis Instruments of Mount Kisco, NY and last worked at Rippowam-Cisqua School. McGuire, William 81, Somers, NY died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco, NY.

Bill was born June 17, 1929 in The Bronx, the son of Edward and Loretto (McCoy) McGuire. He attended Sacred Heart School and Cardinal Hayes High School, and received his B.S. in Marketing from Fordham University.

After 34 years, Bill retired from advertising sales for the NY Daily News. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Joyce Kilmer Council of the Knights of Columbus in Suffern, NY. Bill served in the National Guard and was an avid Yankee fan.

Kisco to Anthony and Rose (nee Del Giorno) Sinocchi on December 13, 1939. Louise was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of Fox Lane High School. She graduated from Berkeley Business School. She was hired as one of the first female bus drivers employed by the Bedford Bus Company. She moved to Heritage Hills in 2003 after her retirement from Verizon of Valhalla where she was a Major Account Representative. Louise was a member of the Order Sons of Italy in America,Il Club Italiano of Westchester Community College, Bedford Audubon Society, Heritage Hills Photo Club, Heritage Hills Garden Club and the Women’s Civic Club of Katonah. She volunteered at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts and the Katonah Thrift Shop. She loved dancing and was an avid tennis player. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Anthony and Karen Morgese of Pound Ridge and her loving sister, Theresa Sheppard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, on Friday, September 17th, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Mt. Kisco on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will be private. O’Brien, Sue Ann E. age 82, a resident of Somers for 14 years, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Somers Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. O’Brien was born September 4, 1928 in Port Jervis, NY.

Sue Ann will be remembered for her commitment and fierce loyalty to her entire family; her love of all children; her devout faith; her love of laughter; her kindness to others; her proper manners and fastidiousness in keeping a home.

Sue Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years: Daniel J. O’Brien, her daughters: Marita O’Brien of Bedford Hills, and Marianne Pugni of White Plains, her son: Daniel J. O’Brien, Jr. of Silverthorne, CO; her grandsons Peter E. Wilhelm of Torrington, CT, Matthew C. O’Brien and Griffin J. O’Brien of Littleton, CO, her great-grandson Gavin Jude Wilhelm of Torrington, CT and her cousin George Whalen of Newtown, CT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as her own.

Palmer, Virginia Claire a lifelong resident of Bedford, New York, passed away on March 5, 2010 at age 77.

Ginna was the youngest of three daughters born to the late Charles and Fanny Mazurak of Bedford. She graduated from Bedford Hills High School in 1950, and for many years was employed as a food service worker with the Bedford Central School District, where many students enjoyed her smile and kindness. For many years, Ginna was an active member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Palmer, a former chief of the Bedford Fire Department, and by a sister, Jean McCabe. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Rossi.

She is also survived by her five children and their spouses: Jan & Noel Desiato, Kim & Katie Desiato, Todd Desiato, Jeanne & Howard Wulforst, and Gary Palmer. She was the devoted grandmother of Morgan, Melanie, Madeline, Zachary, Christopher and Nathaniel. She is also survived by her first husband, Charles Desiato.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Bedford Presbyterian Church on the Village Green in Bedford. Interment will be private.

Palumbo, Frank E. age 83, of Cross River died at home Monday, August 23, 2010. Mr. Palumbo was born in the Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Antonio and Adeline Palumbo. In 1951, he married Marie at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx.

He served in the Army during World War II . He was employed as a stock transfer manager at Lewco Corp. of New York City, NY and retired in 1994.

Frank is survived by his wife: Marie Palumbo; three children; Patricia Dolan, Angela (Henry) Moses and Frank (Pei) Palumbo Jr. and seven grandchildren and his late granddaughter, Tricia Couchon.

Lynette is survived by her beloved husband: Daniel E; she is the devoted mother of Daniel Jr., Jared and Alyssa; cherished daughter of William F. and Rose Marie (Battista) Masi; loving sister of Gina and Christopher; loving sister-in-law of Bryan, Taryn, Stephen, Nieves, Keren and Susan; dearest aunt of Donald, Laura, Mateo and Leah. Riverso, Karen (Roberti) 56, of Holmes, NY passed away Saturday, December 11 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was born on November 16, 1954 in Yorktown and was the daughter of Louis Roberti and Elizabeth Grossfield. Karen worked at White Plains Hospital until 1985, after which she was a homemaker and loving mother of three until her passing. An avid Yankees and Patriots fan, she loved spending time surrounded by her children and three dogs watching a good ball game. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the light she shone into each life she touched. She is survived by her three children: Cara, John, and Christopher Riverso; her brother and sister-in-law, Lou and Sandy Roberti; her nephew Louis and niece Sierra; her Auntie and cousins. Rubenstein, Mort 91, Madison Avenue ad man and art director Mort Rubenstein, formerly of Manhattan, currently of Somers, New York, 91, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at home, surrounded by his family. Mort was the loving husband of Joan Rubenstein, devoted father of Fay Jacobs, Gwen Jurmark, David and Jeffrey Windell. He is also survived by his loving daughters-in-law Bonnie Quesenberry and Shari Windell, son-in-law Rick Jurmark, sisters-in-law Marion Harris and Gert Rubenstein, nephew Kenn Harris and niece Fran Rubenstein, as well as sister and brother-in-law Margi and Irwin Hirshberg. He was predeceased by his beloved son Mark, brother Roy and his first wife Shirley Kelsey Rubenstein. He also is survived by a large circle of friends and work colleagues. Mort was born October 24, 1918, son of Harry and Lillian Rubenstein of the Bronx, New York. A member of the Greatest Generation, Mort attended Cooper Union art school (class of 1939) began his design career with Conde Nast publications and Vogue Magazine, then Glamour until 1942 when he enlisted in the Army.Mort served in the Army during World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge. His services were then requested in Paris to join the Army’s information and education department. Upon his return, Mort rejoined Conde Nast and then went to work for CBS Television at its infancy. He worked in promotion and advertising. Mort rose to the title of Creative Director of Advertising for the CBS Television Network in 1961 , where his New York Times and TV Guide print ads and television promotion campaigns were legendary. He was especially proud of designing the marquee for the Ed Sullivan Theatre on 7th Avenue and 52nd Street. He left CBS in the late 60s to pursue free lance work in advertising and to form his own design and creative services business. He retired in 1988. Over his career he won numerous honors and awards from The Art Directors Club, The Society of Illustrators, and an award for designing the Viacom corporate symbol.

Mort came to be known not only for his remarkable charitable generosity, his sense of humor, and his obsession with the New York Times crossword puzzle but his uncanny ability to remember not only the words to almost every song in the great American Standards songbook, but also the obscure verses, composers and a multitude of musical trivia. He was also a compendium of sports statistics, especially starting line-ups, going back to 1923 mostly from his beloved and occasionally frustrating New York Yankees.

Sica, Nicholas A. 90, of Somers, NY formerly of Bedford, NY died Friday, December 17, 2010 at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY
He was born in the Bronx on Dec 6, 1920 to Nicholas and Rose (Vesta) Sica. He was a graduate of Pace College where he received his BA degree. Nick was a Medic in the US Army serving during WW II. He served in the European Theater in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland. He was awarded The Silver Star for gallantry in action while evacuating his wounded comrades under heavy enemy fire. He was a retired Chairman of European American Bank serving 44 years with the Bank. Nick was inducted into the Order of the Knights of Malta in 1983.
In 1980 he was recognized by the Belgian Government and awarded the title of Officer of the Order of Leopold II in recognition of his services to that country during his 40 year banking career. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Nassau County Council of the Boy Scouts of America in 1984. Nick is the beloved husband for 63 years to Carmela Sica; and the loving father of Roseann (Walter) Dzuban of Amawalk, Barbara (Mark) Henley of Mamaroneck, NY, Richard (Andrea) Sica of Madison, CT, Glen (Kristy) Sica of Yorktown Heights, NY and the late Dennis Sica. Devoted grandfather of Brian, Mark Dean, Alexandra, Lauren, Megan, Kimberly, Nicholas, Christopher, Jonathan and Robin. He was the brother of the late Frank Sica, Theresa Sica and Philomena Sommer. Steinnagel, Robert A. age 78, of Pound Ridge, NY died at home on April 7, 2010. Mr. Steinnagel was born December 13, 1931 in North Brunswick, NJ. . He is the son of the late Otto and the late Elsie (Surdam) Steinnagel. Robert married Billye Zoa (Lovern) Steinnagel in July 4, 1964. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by Readers Digest, Pleasantville, NY as the Director of Maintenance in the Aviation Department. He was ordained a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church. Robert is survived by his wife: Billye Zoa Steinnagel, one son: Eric (Margaret) Steinnagel; one daughter: Schaunel (Matthew Taylor) Steinnagel; and four grandchildren: Matthew Voltaire; Madeline, Mark and Adam Steinnagel-Taylor. He is also survived by four siblings, Ronald, David and Earle Steinnagel and Marjorie O’Brien. A Memorial Service will be held at South Salem Presbyterian Church on Sat, April 17 at 2:00pm. The Church will be open at 1:00pm. Visitation and refreshments will follow the service. Interment will be private. Supple, Marie C. a longtime resident of Lincolndale, NY and most recently of Oneonta, NY, died July 18, 2010. She was 99 years old. One of 12 children, Marie was born March 13, 1911 in Medford, MA to John J. Hanley and Edith V. Corbett. She moved to Lincolndale in 1926 where she met and married George C. Supple on April 18, 1927. George predeceased Marie on July 3, 1987 after 60 years of marriage. During the summer months of the late 1940’s and early 1950’s Marie ran the concession stand of the Lake Lincolndale Property Owners Association on the lake’s beach. She also worked and retired from the billing department of Readers’ Digest, Pleasantville, NY in 1976 after 30 years of service. While Marie raised a family of 4 children husband George ran the general store in Lincolndale and also was the coal, and eventually fuel oil, distributor in the Somers area from the 1920’s through 1964. He also served several terms as a Councilman on the Town Board, was Clerk of the Somers Board of Education and served the Somers Fire District as a Commissioner. Marie and George spent their final years together in their dream home “on the hill” on Route 139 in Lincolndale. In 2001, after the passing of her sister-in-law Helen Supple, Marie moved to Oneonta, NY to spend her final years living with her daughter Patricia. Marie is survived by 2 daughters: Marie J. Hawes, and her husband Lee, of West Redding, CT and Patricia A. Allen of Oneonta, NY; 2 sons: George C. Supple, Jr., and his wife Grace, of Rochester, NY and John H. Supple, and his wife Diane, of Lincolndale, NY; 3 sisters: Emily Olsen of Daytona Beach, FL, Jacqueline Pierce, and her husband Leird, of Oneonta, NY and Lorraine Wallace, and her husband Howard, of Homosassa, FL; 15 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grand children, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband George, Marie is predeceased by 5 brothers, 3 sisters, her sister-in-law Helen F. Supple of Lincolndale, NY and her son-in-law Floyd C. Allen of Oneonta, NY. Vallone, Frances M. of Ossining, NY died Monday, Feb. 15 2010 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center. Mrs. Vallone was born in New York City. She is the daughter of the late Fergus and Mary Fallon. She was educated at Grasslands Hospital where she receive her RN degree. Mrs. Vallone was employed as a Registered Nurse at Grasslands Hospital from 1960 thru the 1970s.

She is survived by her husband, James and is the beloved mother of James (Beth) and Michael Vallone. She is the loving grandmother of Chris, James and Peter.

Arthur F. Webber, age 86, of South Salem died April 21, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Webber was born July 18, 1923 in New Rochelle, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Inez (Graves) Webber.

Arthur was an Honorably Discharged Army Corporal serving during World War II. He was employed by Local Union 21 as a Steamfitter and retired after 45 dedicated years. A former Captain of the South Salem Fire Department, lovingly referred to as “Mama,” he served the community for over 40 years. Arthur felt some of the most enjoyable times of his life were spent with the men of the Fire Company and eagerly looked forward to his weekly Monday night card games at the station.

He is the loving father of four sons: Arthur, Stephen, Thomas (Laurie) and Kenneth (Barbara) Webber. Cherished grandfather of Jasmine (Brad) Woodward, Kurt Spencer, Kelly, Thomas Jr, Kyra and Bowen. Dear great grandfather of Kylee & Nyah.

Arthur, known to his family as “Ole Da,” was a devoted family man. He spent all of his weekends on the sidelines of his grandchildren’s sporting events as their biggest fan. Not a week was spent without his presence, either treating his family to dinner at their favorite restaurant, on the family boat, or rooting for the Yankees at their home.

Willey, Helen age 91, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at home in Mount Kisco. Mrs. Willey was born September 3, 1918 in Lubbock, TX. She is the daughter of the late Dr. Charles and the late Janette (Tinker) Wagner. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert Willey in 2009.
Helen was an Emmy Award Winning Actress, best known for her role for 54 years as “Nancy Hughes”, in the CBS daytime drama “As the World Turns”. Wilson, Robert E. age 77, a 50 year resident of Bedford Hills,died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center of Mt.Pleasant, NY. Mr. Wilson was born May 3, 1932 in Englewood, NJ. He is the son of the late Howard and Amy Marie Wilson. He was employed by William H. Kopke, Jr., Inc., Lake Success, NY as an Agronomist and Operation Director. Robert attended Closter High School and graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was on the Board of Directors of the Bedford Hill Community House. He is survived by his loving wife:of 53 years, Doris (Wilhelmsen) Wilson. Dear father of Karen Callaway and Ian Wilson. Cherished grandfather of Brooke, Keith and Kenny. Yeager, W. Dewees Jr., a former Corporate Director of Advertising for Nestle’ and longtime resident of Bedford Corners, died Monday, February 8th at his home. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Yeager affectionately known as Dewey was born in Philadelphia to Regina Miller Yeager, and Waters Dewees Yeager, a direct descendant of Col. William Dewees Jr. the owner and iron master of Valley Forge at the time of the American Revolution. Mr. Yeager grew up in Philadelphia, and graduated from the Haverford School and Trinity College with time out for service as an Air Force Navigator in World War II.
He began his New York advertising career with J Walter Thompson, and went on to Young and Rubicam. He joined Nestle’ in 1965 and rose through the ranks to become US Director of Advertising, a position that he held until his retirement in 1983. He and his wife Peggy Boomer Yeager founded PB Enterprises, a corporate communications and editorial consulting firm, which they operated until 1995.
Mr. Yeager was elected to and served a four year term as Councilman on the Bedford town Board, during which time he was instrumental in helping to create the present Bedford recycling program. He continued to be involved in local environmental and conservation issues as a member of the Bedford Coalition, serving as a one-time chairman of the Committee to Save Bedford, as a director of the Regional Review League, and twice as a town-appointed chairman of the site selection committees for group homes.
He is survived by his son, W. Dewees Yeager III; his daughters Alexandra Gordevitch and Tatiana Gordevitch; his daughter in law Anne H. Yeager and his grandchildren, W. Dewees Yeager IV, Benjamin B. Yeager, Jane B Yeager, and Alexander T.M. Rota.
A Memorial Service is planned for 2:00 pm on Monday, April 5th 2010, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Bedford NY.
