Obituary of John Gargani

John Gargani, 73, of Danbury, CT., formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY, died on Sunday, October 6, 2024. John was born on April 2, 1951 to Alphonso Gargani and Laura Nettis Gargani.

John attended Cardinal Spellman High School in Bronx, NY and Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University Dental School in 1977, earning a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. John had a family dental practice in Mamaroneck, NY for almost 40 years. He retired in 2016.

John was an avid fisherman, as well as a talented musician, artist, and model ship builder.

John was the beloved husband of his wife of 50 years, Barbara (nee Sell). He was the loving father of David (Stephanie) of Chappaqua, NY, Christopher (Vanessa), of Northport LI, and Scott (Gloria) of Putnam Valley, NY. He was the devoted grandfather of Mikayla, Ashley, Anthony (AJ), Giuliana, and Grace. He was the loving brother of Jane Hanley and her husband Charles.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY on Thursday 10/10/24 and Friday 10/11/24 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

Interment at Kensico Cemetery on Saturday, 10/12/24 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
