Obituary of Alvah Jakola
Alvah (Al) Jakola, 85, of Katonah, NY, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. Al was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on June 14, 1939 to Alvah Uno Jakola and Karrin Johnson Jakola.
Al was a mathematics teacher at Fox Lane High School, Bedford, NY for many years. He was musically inclinded and enjoyed attending opera performances at the Metropolitan Opera House and was a pianist for the Pleasantville Music Theather. He and his wife Connie enjoyed traveling to many European countires and the Caribbean. He also enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with his friends at the Bagel Shop.
Al was married in 1974 to Concetta (Connie) Aucello Jakola. He leaves behind his sister, Sandra Davis of Old Saybrook, Connecticut; his niece, Melissa Rapacciuolo (Salvatore) and her children Christopher and Erik Place of Old Saybrook, Connecticut; his nephew, Richard Moore of Belmont, Vermont; his sister-in-law, Beatrice Centonze of Stamford, Connecticut, his niece, Allison Centonze of Astoria, New York; his nephew, Michael Centonze and his wife Dolly of Norwalk, Connecticut.
Family and Friends are invited to Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, New York on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
