Obituary of Thomas N. Murray

Thomas N. Murray of Somers, New York and Boynton Beach, Florida on Friday, November 29, 2024. Born in Liscune, Ballymacward, Co. Galway, Ireland, son of the late Joseph and Sarah Murray (nee Scarry). He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ann (nee McMahon).

Thomas was the devoted father of Noreen, Thomas Jr., and Kieran (Denise); the loving grandfather of Ryan, Aiden, Kyle, and Tyler; and the dear brother-in-law of Mary O’Dea, Nora Madden, Patrick McMahon, Kitty and John McMahon, Bridie and John Mahoney, and Carmel Murray. He is also survived by numerous loving nephews and nieces here in America and in Ireland.

Thomas was predeceased by his sister, Mary, and brothers Paddy, John, Martin, and Michael, as well as his brothers-in-law, Jackie Madden, Miceal McMahon, Bert McMahon, and Joe O’Dea.

For more than 30 years, he was an electrical inspector in lower Westchester County towns. He was also a sergeant with the Town of Eastchester’s auxiliary police department for over 30 years. 

His life was dedicated to his family and he loved to play golf when he could.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church in Somers, with interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532.

Donations in Tom’s name to St. Joseph’s Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY 10589 would be appreciated.
