Obituary of Mary Lucchese
Maria (Mary) Domenica Borelli Lucchese passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, in North Salem, New York. She was born on November 27, 1924, to the late Giovanni and Maria Borelli (née Marazita) in Manhattan.
Mary met her beloved late husband Rosario (Roy) Joseph Lucchese (1924-2005) when they were children, having grown up around the corner from one another on 115th and 116th Streets in East Harlem. Mary joked that she was smarter than Roy, as she always scored better on her tests in grade school than him. They married on November 1, 1942, in Manhattan, and spent their 63 years of marriage traveling the world together and raising their four sons in the Bronx and Armonk.
Mary’s greatest joys in life were her faith, children, animals, and above all, her family. She was a devoted homemaker, a longtime parishioner of the Church of St. Patrick in Armonk, and a teacher at the Armonk Little Sparrows Nursery School. Mary celebrated her 100th birthday this past November, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary is survived by her sons, Salvatore (Sharon) of St. Augustine, Florida, Roy (Susan) of Knightdale, North Carolina, Robert (Marilyn) of Brewster, and John (Giannina) of Somers; her 12 grandchildren, Richard (Melody) of Leola, Pennsylvania, Lisa Sarick (John) of DuBois, P.A., Roy (Mary) of Philadelphia, P.A., Michael (Tammy) of Hyde Park, Dana Rose (Sean) of Wappingers Falls, Kyle and Corey of Albany, James Clarke of Austin, Texas, Lauren (Michael Cuccia) of Hyde Park, Anthony (Sarah) of Stormville, Taber and Teagan of Manhattan, and Jack of Somers; her ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and last but not least, her beloved sister-in-law Anne Pasciolla (née Lucchese), formerly of Armonk and Somers.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Roy; daughter, Dana; father, Giovanni; mother, Maria; brother-in-law, Michael Pasciolla; and great-granddaughter, Emily.
Family and Friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am on Monday, December 30. 2024 at Middle Patent Cemetery, Middle Patent Road, Bedford, NY.
