Obituary of Michael P. Amato

Amato, Michael P., 91, passed away on May 11, 2017 at his home in Somers, NY. Michael was born January 7, 1926 in the Bronx, NY. He proudly served in the Navy in WWII. He married his love, Alice T. Lonergan on August 26, 1956 and were married for 61 years. Michael is survived by his wife: Alice; his son: Michael J. Amato (Christina) of Somers, NY; daughters: Donna Tambini (Larry) of Holmes, NY and Debbie Radi (Rich) of Somers, NY; grandkids: Michelle & Richie Radi, Melissa & Marissa Tambini and Sarah Amato. Mike is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Amato of Florida and his sister, Rae Pegoli of Somers, NY. Mike was a member of the Somers Volunteer Fire Dept. for 66 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Italian American Club. Mike loved being outside and around people. Mike’s family was everything to him. His great personality and smile will be deeply missed by all. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 16, 2017 at 10am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Route 202, Somers, NY. In lieu of flowers, make donations in his name to the Somers Volunteer Fire Dept., 119 Primrose St. Lincolndale, NY 10540
