Obituary of Maria Kolack

Kolack, Maria, age 97, of Shenorock, NY, passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2017. Maria was born June 9, 1920 in Nurtingen, Germany. She was the daughter of the late Friedrich Altdorfer and Elisabeth Mutschler. Maria was a resident of Shenorock since 1950 and was the wife of the late Frank Kolack, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. She will be remembered for her outstanding German culinary skills and her “Green Thumb” for both outdoor landscaping and houseplants. Maria was a very special lady, beautiful inside and out, with a long list of friends and family who loved and admired her. Maria is survived by one son, Frederick Kolack and his wife Roseanne, of Wakefield, MA; a granddaughter, Lillian Hasselman and her husband Kevin, of Grosse Point, MI; five great grandchildren: Taryn, Kylie, Zoey, Mason and Parker Hasselman as well as three nieces and a nephew in Germany. Maria was predeceased by her son, Peter in 1993. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 2-4 &7-9pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Amawalk Hill Cemetery, Amawalk, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Donations to be made in honor of Maria Kolack to The Katonah United Methodist Church, 5 Bedford Road, Katonah, NY 10536.
