Obituary of Peter J. Hertel

Peter James Hertel passed away April 22nd 2018 at the age of 71. Peter was born in the Bronx, NY on January 27th 1947.

Peter had most recently been living in New Milford, CT. He was a former longtime resident of Westchester County, NY where he lived for roughly 30 years. Peter grew up on Carpenter Ave. in the Bronx, NY.

The Carpenter Ave Deli was where Peter Started working at the age of 13 for his longtime friend and second father figure Emil Justo.  He was the former Treasurer at Utilities and Industries Corp.  He had worked as a financial advisor at Fusion Financial Group.  He was also former owner/operator of the Pound Ridge Country Market in Pound Ridge, NY.

Peter was a graduate of Mount Saint Michael Academy (class of 1964).  He also studied "sporadically" at Iona College (college of 1968).

He is the son of the late Frank and Irene Hertel.  He is survived by his beloved wife Lynn.  Other survivors include his older brother Richard, his children Rachel (Jim Grahn), Christina (Bobby Demaria), Richard (Jaime Fenton), Ellen (Casey Hilliard), and Kathleen.  His grandchildren Delilah, Gunnar, Cole, Megan, and James.  His nephews Chris, Keith, Craig, Peter, John, Arthur, and Chris. His nieces Nancy, Laurie, Jen, and Maria.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Anne and Barbara (Larry Hannan), his in-laws John and "Boom Boom" Naclerio as well as many other beloved friends and family.

He will be thoroughly missed.  Go Yankees.

Peter’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 26th at 11:00 am at St. Patricks RC Church, Bedford, NY

Interment will be private
