Obituary of Marion B. Dour
Dour , Marion B. died peacefully on August 22, 2016 at her Lake Katonah home where she lived for 58 years, and raised 5 children with her late husband, Paul. Marion was born in New Haven, Connecticut on April 10, 1932 to James Joseph Brady and his wife, Marion Rourke Brady. The youngest of four siblings, Marion was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth M. Brady, Margaret A. Brady and her brother, Dr. James J. Brady, all of Hamden, Connecticut.
After attending Hamden Public Schools, Marion then graduated from the Nursing Program at the University of Connecticut and the Greenwich School of Nursing. A compassionate and empathetic caregiver, Marion worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of local venues including Somers Manor, Putnam County Hospital and Katonah Medical Group. In addition, she valued Community Service and was involved with countless organizations including The Women’s Civic Club of Katonah, The Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps and various church related endeavors.
In 1954, Marion married Paul R. Daur of Greenwich Connecticut and together they raised five children of whom they were very proud. Daughters: Linda Roush Rubell, Anne Cunniff, and sons: Christopher, Michael and Luke Daur all survive their mother. In addition, Marion is survived by 9 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Her husband, Paul, died in 1999.
Visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, N.Y. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Somers, NY.
